Maybe it depends on the color. I’ve had a lot of pre-05 bags with dark handles (ironically the worst were shades of brown)

I stand corrected. Maybe it’s a matter of degree and personal experience. I think about the 03, 04, and 05 reds…I expect the 05 to have dark handles even with minimal use.
I can attest to that. I think 05 is the worst when it comes to quickly darkening handles. I've had my #1 fave Bal
for six months now and I'm always super careful with her. I've used the bag maybe 20 times, tops. No hand lotion, sanitizer and what have you.The top of the handle is just fine.
The underside not so much...ewww... LOL!
And in all her Rouge Theatre glory, just because.

I have it. Have applied it to a few bags, but haven’t had/used them long ago to know if it made a difference
We don't have it here and with shipping, tax plus import it would be way too much...
The darkening is not that bad that it bothers me. Yet, lol!
I would be willing to bet the farm…..if only I had a farm, that the darkening on the 05s is coming from the inside. I believe the pressure of carrying it will darken that area, but it is not soil from skin etc. I was told by a leatherologist who has experience with these bags that it’s caused by the type of glue Bal used.

Oh man! If only they would uncover the year/season marking on the card, it would help solve the mystery of what color this bag is (same as my star-punched recent purchase). I see April 2011 note in handwriting, but I don't know the significance of that date.

How this seller could claim this bag is GOOD CONDITION is beyond me. It goes against Vestaire's own definition of "good" - attached.Handles look dark, corners are shredded & the pics aren’t great — F05 Grey Work at a decent price to offer even less then send it to LMB
