What is going on here? They admit to "touching up" the leather, but did they also just paint the studs? Or was this actually a thing? The hardware does legit look wrapped in leather.

No idea if that means a corner touch up or a dunk in a dye bath.
That's a paint job alrighty. Too lazy to cover the hardware, you can see the streaks on that lower stud. Looks like they missed the pin tho... yikes.

WTH??!!! Here's another one. Buckle doesn't look as wrapped as the green buckle, but the studs look wrapped. Both this men's day and the green one above are older bags. The men's day looks like 05 chocolate? And it doesn't look "touched up."

Stud on the left looks worn down to metal, but the one on the right looks like just the surface of the leather is scraped off.
This stud also looks wrapped, and corner of the wrap is chipped/peeling.
Looks like a covered HW bag IMO (what everyone calls brogues).@nicole2730
