I had a great experience, mind you 8 years ago. Barbara is a genius (she repaired my blotched Fendi beige bag to perfection and Milberry Bays old Darwin leather too. Bal was painted and yes a bit more plasticy but not too much. Many many amazing stories about handles done beautifully throughout the years. Many years passed since and I started hearing that they have got other people to do the repairs and then it all went downhill.
I was about to say a few years ago I heard such amazing things until recently. I wonder if they have outsourced if have newer members on the team. Will steer clear in the future if I need to use the services,.

I've been sending bags to LMB for the last ten years. Have never ceased to be amazed at the beautiful results. Nor have I ever had my instructions ignored; no one to my knowledge has been turning out as perfectly matched handle and corner restorations ever. That said, there is no magic dye or paint that can ever replicate the texture of glorious chèvre or agneau.

I'm puzzled by the recent reports of frustration and disappointment and so very sorry to hear them. I do not understand what can be happening. Just wanted to post a photo or two of the handle restoration done last year on my 05 Gray First. It was not only color matched exactly, the finish is gently mottled to mimic the leather on the body of the bag.
