I mentioned before that the color on the later lizard embossed bags can flake off rather than fade. Behold.

100% agree! This is why I got rid of mine. The colors are vibrant, but they rub off leaving white like you see in this photo.

I can attest that the earlier versions are NOTHING like this and are worth it if you can find one in good condition. The first versions have softer leather and I have not experienced any color rub off on them.

Yes! The NM anniversary lizards are nothing like these later lizards. The leather is super soft and the color deeply saturated with zero flaking. My brown one hasn't even slightly faded.

Is it wrong that I kind of like the scuffs? Sort of a shabby chic kind of look. Hmmm, might have to see if my bank account also likes shabby chic…
I totally understand. Some bags are just meant to be shabby to be gorgeous. I still remember 15 years ago seing on ebay Hermes Birkin in natural barenia, so beaten up, even had a hole in it, looked like a mess, patina all over.....BUT, that leather and that mess were my dream. I did not have $3500 for it otherwise it would be my everyday bag forever. Like pulled out of the movie about Indiana Jones adventures

I also like what they did for Coach presentation of the new largest 48 Empire, LOVE it
