@haisley, what didn't you like about the marble city?

The bag is gorgeous, leather is soft, but the little bit of OCD I have the longer I stared at it, the more it was looking “dirty”. Granted, the bag is supposed to look like that with the marbling effect and I didn’t think it would bother me as much as it did.

Another thing is, I always thought the hardware was hammered. If you look closely there is black squiggly lines on the flat metal hw to make it appear that way. I so wish they had done real hammered hw on this one. I probably would have kept it! LOL!

Anyway, if someone wants this bag there’s nothing major wrong with it. Just a few minor callouts FP has in the last photos, but overall it is definitely in very good condition.

Thank you for the review. I would not have known about the squiggly lines on the hw based on the photos alone.

@DJ Mommy Mom, weren't you looking for a marble bal?

I've been stalking this outrageously overpriced bag waiting for the price to keep dropping. But it just sold for $2456 :wtf:

I don't think it helps that Rouge Noir nails are "in" for this season.

... even though I've been wearing Chanel's Rouge Noir nail polish on my toes since 2006, idk if I'd pay that much for a bag to match my tootsies, LOL.

Wait, they just, like, drew lines on the flattened HW?

Like, it doesn't have grooves on it/actually hammered?

So odd!

Rouge Noir is sooo good! I didn't even think about that correlation until now!

I think this might be a men's WE from maybe 2007? I went through the color years and 2006 didn't seem to have many blues that matched this. The longer handles and silver hardware made me so excited at first, but then I saw the condition...I didn't want to post in finds until I knew if it was a men's or later model

I was thinking 07 as well based off this Vinted listing.

... so, like, because it's blue with darker silver/"men" HW, lol.

Could also be a later one, but I can't recall what year Men WE were discontinued - anyone?

The macho Balenciaga!! hahaha. You know I wonder if it was made in all the colors in 2006/2007, or just specific more masculine colors. This would be interesting to try and figure out. I am so dumb for selling my 2006 Sapin, that was in pretty good condition apart from the handles.

I do believe 2007 was the last year, since all weekenders after that had longer handles. I could be wrong though, this was information I gathered from just a few forum posts way back in the Bal archives.

The listing on Vinted does look so similar, that is definitely a men's with the right model number 156541 !

I wonder if this bag can be restored or not, I don't mind the fading, but the corners might bother me..

Also the one on TRR doesn't have any tassels and it looks like the tassel rings are also missing?

I believe they were released in the more masculine colors - whatever "more masculine" means, like, why can't a guy have a bright Rouge Vif bag?

Sorry I didn't mean to offend by gender classifying colors. I'm a guy and wear all shades of the rainbow. I think I misunderstood your post.

I thought you were trying to figure out why they were called "men's weekenders," by mentioning this bag was blue with darker silver hardware. Since there are still stereotypical gender colors (like blue for a baby boy reveal, pink for girl etc), I was kind of going off of that.

Oh no, I was trying to make fun that they make bags for specific genders in specific "masculine" colors - seems so silly and antiquated now in 2024!!! Let everyone wear an 07 Aquamarine bright bag, y'know?

I'll edit my post for more clarity... or try to, haha.

Got it sorry lol. I think I read too into it, no need to edit! Sometimes it's hard to tell the context online 😆

I totally agree also about it being antiquated in 2024. I like how basically everything is just called unisex for the newer Bal bags. I've always believed all bags are unisex, it just depends how you carry it! I wish 20 years ago the "man" bag was more normalized haha.

its already sold. I had it in my cart and considered it for a few minutes but I really can’t do Works and it was too worn for that price. If it had been priced more reasonably for its condition I might have reconsidered 🤷‍♀️

Someone snatched it up really quick (it was gone before you posted)
Good you didn't get it. It was too much for the condition really because on teal you see the changes once you receive it, the yellowing makes it really unappealing and because it is very smooth texture and saturation, it really shows when it is very worn. I like distressed leather more, because the wear looks even cool, the darker handles on grenat fit nicely with the overall distressed color of darkness and wine.

Assuming they're real croc, the consigner(s) must be thrilled by tRR's ignorance-level pricing.
The green is definitely real croc, you can see the pores in the scales, **edited**black looks like croc also. Either way what a great deal, the poor consignor lol. Here's one on Fashionphile, although it's been sitting for months
