Sheen says he wants a raise to return to show

By DAVID BAUDER, AP Television Writer – 8 mins ago
NEW YORK – Charlie Sheen says he wants a raise to come back to the CBS show "Two and a Half Men."

The troubled star appeared on dueling morning show interviews Monday to continue an attack on CBS and producers of his hit sitcom for shutting down the show because of his off-set behavior. Both ABC's "Good Morning America" and NBC's "Today" show aired lengthy segments of their interviews in their first and second half hours.

It was startling television that overshadowed morning-after Oscars coverage. Sheen boasted about his "epic" partying, said he's fueled by "violent hatred" of his bosses, said he cleaned up from drugs at home at his "Sober Valley Lodge" and said he's "tired of pretending I'm not a total, *****in' rock star from Mars."

NBC interviewer Jeff Rossen appeared taken aback when Sheen said he wanted to be paid $3 million an episode to return to the show. He's reportedly paid $1.8 million an episode now, one of the highest-paid actors on television.

"You want a raise?" Rossen asked.

Replied Sheen: "Yeah, look what they put me through."

On ABC, Sheen said to correspondent Andrea Canning that he planned to sue his bosses.

"Wouldn't you?" he said. "I've got a whole family to support and love. People beyond me are relying on that. I'm here to collect. They're going to lose. They're going to lose in a courtroom, so I would recommend that they settle out of court."

While Sheen said in a radio interview last week that it would be impossible to do a ninth season of "Two and a Half Men" with the show's creators in charge, he said in the television interviews he's ready to work another season.

He said CBS owes him an apology, "publicly, while licking my feet."

Sheen, who was hospitalized three times in three months, said that he's bored now with cocaine. But he said he "exposed people to magic" when they partied with him and that he loved doing drugs.

"What's not to love?" he said on ABC. "Especially when you see how I party. It was epic. The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards just look like droopy-eyed armless children."

ABC and Radar Online had Sheen's blood and urine tested for drugs over the weekend.
The results were "a big win for Charlie Sheen, no question," said Radar's Dylan Howard. He said the dual tests revealed Sheen hadn't had drugs in at least 72 hours.

"I am on a drug," Sheen said. "It's called Charlie Sheen. It's not available because if you try it you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body."

When Canning asked Sheen whether the people who supplied him with drugs were out of his life, Sheen hesitated.

"That's nobody's business," he said. "I think you know the answer to that."

The interviews heightened the competition between the two top-rated morning shows. ABC spokeswoman Alison Bridgman said Sheen had promised Saturday that ABC would get the only television interview last weekend but "changed his mind." Both "Today" and "Good Morning America" said they planned to air more segments of their interview on Tuesday, and ABC is planning a "20/20" special with Sheen on Tuesday.

Both networks had their own boasts: "Today" said Sheen had given NBC his "first morning show interview," while ABC said it had gotten the "first television interview since the controversy erupted."

Well, the drug tests performed during the interview were clean. Granted, that only means about 24 hours clean for the blood test and maybe 72 hours clean for the urine test, but clean. His speech wasn't quite as manic, but he still used the grandiose terms about himself and some of the same expressions.

And maybe it's just me, but he looked tired, haggard. I can see him looking like some of those drug posters in the up to the minute forum soon.

I thought he had a sickly, pale sheen to his face and his hair looked like it was all messed up one side. Not the picture of great mental health for sure.

yeah, CBS destroyed his family, not him.
he is so full of crap. sure he tested clean. they probably only tested him for blow/alcohol. there are drugs that stay in your system for weeks (even cocaine) - something would still show up if they tested for different drugs. There are ways to beat certain tests. alcoholics/addicts are very very crafty. even if he hadn't used for 72 hours so what? he's a binge drinker/user. they can go for a spell without using.
he is so full of himself.
if his drinking/using doesn't kill him, his ego probably will.
people are just watching him spiral downward but unfortunately, thats all anyone can do right now. let him make his own bed.

I just want to make it clear that I absolutely agree with you. I wasn't trying to say he IS clean, just what the media circus says.

But I completely agree that he is a liar and a user and likely binges. One clean test that he had time to prepare for means nothing. All of his appearance, behaviour, language and body language indicates that he is in a bad way.

I have to say that I'm ashamed that GMA and the TODAY show chose to air these interviews, especially the morning after the Oscars!!! I honestly get the reason -- it's all about ratings and entertainment and this is a newsworthy story, but you can tall the guy is obviously NOT WELL and this goes far beyond drug use and his smarta$$ attitude. He's not being a jerk just to be a jerk, I believe we're watching a mental breakdown right before our eyes and the media is just fueling this and pushing it along. I heard the radio guy (Dan Schwartz??) in an interview over the weekend and couldn't believe what he was saying -- he actually BELIEVES what Charlie's saying and from what he said, he APPEARS to be on Charlie's side about this whole thing w/CBS & the show's creator. He egged him on during those interviews and I was appalled. Now GMA/20/20 and The Today Show give him a stage and an audience of a millions to continue his rant. It's as if they've stooped to Dan Schwartz' level just for ratings -- it's wrong, just wrong

His kids are going to have to live with the results of Charlie's behavior over the years for the rest of their lives -- now they have video taped evidence of the mental breakdown that their father was having when they were far too young to know what was really going on.

The entire situation is sad and I really hope that someone is able to do something soon or we're going to reading another obituary for another celebrity who was far too young to die

:goodpost:

I hope he gets some help soon.

I am horrified that GMA and Today would run these interviews. It is like watching a breakdown and is pretty sick. I am hoping that they have motives that are good, ie, for the benefit of Martin Sheen. No court in the land would deny a conservatorship now.

I will be shocked if Denise Richards doesn't file an emergency custody and visitation hearing, as those kids should not be allowed near him until he is medicated and not manic.

Just reading what he has said is incredible and not the ramblings of someone who is JUST on drugs. He is clearly mentally ill.

yes...snapped. The TV coverage is making him worse, not better. He is so ramped up now, anything can happen. Very sad, and his family has to see this play out in public like this, its a tragedy already, and who knows what is next.
