I have to say, I agree with whoever write this article -- his entire family assembled at the hospital for a hiatal hernia?? I think it's a smokescreen too -- perhaps he did have some kind of heart attack, but they were able to get him back. I dunno -- I think there's far more to the story than what's being reported

If it's not an "ear infection" it's a hernia. Charlie Sheen's initial diagnosis is in and I'm not buying it for a minute.

According to TMZ, Charlie was hospitalized after suffering from a hiatal hernia in his stomach.

Bricks of Cocaine Delivered to Charlie's House

The condition causes acid and food to back up into the esophagus causing extreme pain or weakness in the diaphragm.

Sounds like this is the only condition they would come up with to go hand in hand with the "abdominal pain" story.

If he was on a 36-hour coke bender chances are he wasn't eating much, so I call BS on this one.

Whatever happened hopefully he'll get some help before it's too late.
I feel the same away about Charlie Sheen that I feel about Lindsay Lohan -- they've had chance after chance after chance to prove that they're serious about wanting to change, yet they both choose to continue doing the very things that got them into trouble in the first place. I find it hard to "root" for either one of them as it seems obvious (to me) that they have no desire to change their ways

My son and I used to watch Two and a Half Men every week - it was one of the few shows we'd watch together and laugh out loud at at. I stopped recording it last season and haven't watched it in almost a year. He doesn't make me laugh any more.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I used to watch the show and found it funny....now the jokes are old...

The only thing I can think of that would make you want to keep living the way he's been living is if you were very, very sad or scarred in a major way.

I have never been addicted to anything (at least I don't feel like I have, I don't abuse anything, and I've either never tried/walked away from a whole lot of stuff that others have crumbled under because they couldn't get enough, even psychological addictions), so I can't imagine what the Hell makes people do this.

Boredom? Is it ennui, Chuck?

I just can't with this... So much is going right for him, and he's trying his best to s*** all over it.

Some have said that CBS is pleased with him making the news like this because he essentially plays himself on that show, so it's good promo.

But, really, it doesn't matter why he feels the need to do it, when he's been proven to be violent with others. For that reason alone he needs to stop.

He's not going to stop until he ends up DEAD.

Also, it's so amazing how unfair the justice system is. He smokes and uses a BRIEFCASE of COCAINE and then you have these guys on the street and the poor who use CRACK and the go to jail for life, but people like C. Sheen, they get paid $2 Million a show.

I doubt they consider it to be a good promo. In fact I imagine CBS is continually worried that he will get arrested, killed, hospitalized etc and then they will have to go run and do damage control (kind of like today's incident). However, in the end, as long as people still watch the show, nothing will change. Once ratings drop and viewers dwindle then CBS will have to do something.

As for Sheen...I guess this just goes to show how strong addiction is. It's hard for me to understand, but even with all the money you could ever need, all he wants are the drugs! So sad...:nono:

Hiatal hernia???? Would the family gather at the hospital that quickly for a hernia? Actually cocaine abuse can cause a hiatal hernia, but it may be just ONE of his many health problems. Every organ in his body must be affected by so much alcohol and drugs(heart, liver, pancreas, kidneys, the entire nervous system, esophagus). The guy has a death wish.

For those who think his parents and brother(s?) haven't helped to stop the madness, Martin and probably the rest have gone to Al-Anon meetings to learn to not enable or bail out his behavior. As someone mentioned, his father called the cops on Charlie, trying to help his son reach his bottom, but that was many years ago and here we are watching a man self-destruct before our eyes. It's a long drawn-out suicide for Charlie.

geez, he is partying like its the 80s....hookers and massive amounts of cocaine....bro, you are 45 years old.....

i am sorry for his family, it is very sad. I think this is the beginning of the end, I hate to say that and I hope I am wrong. But he is circling the drain and I dont believe the hernia story for a minute....Cedars knows how to deal with things like this, and this is how it is done.

Charlie Sheen should probably stay away from porn stars.
According to TMZ, the 45-year-old Two and a Half Men star was hospitalized Thursday after partying for nearly two days straight with five adult film actresses, including Kacey Jordan.
Though the L.A. Fire Department confirmed to UsMagazine.com that the actor was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a friend of the actor shot down rumors that his hospitalization was the result of a drug overdose.
According to Extra, Charlie, 45, told pal Steve Brodersen that he's "not dying" anytime soon; he's simply being treated for a "hernia" injury.
Added his rep: "He was having severe abdominal pains and went to the hospital."
Extra also reports that Charlie may need surgery as soon as Friday to repair the hernia.
An eyewitness spotted Denise Richards arriving on the scene shortly after learning of her ex-husband's hospitalization.
"She had her hair down and looked very pretty, but she wasn't wearing makeup and she looked tired and drawn," the onlooker told Us. "Her eyes look like she's been crying.
"Thank you so much for you kind and supportive messages. It means a lot," Richards tweeted Thursday evening.
The actor's father, Martin Sheen, was also seen at Cedars-Sinai later in the afternoon.

^^^ LOL, hernia. Is that what they're calling it these days?? At least his spin doctors knew better than to use the "exhaustion" line.
not a hernia, in the most common form -- a hiatal hernia, which affects the stomach/esophagus. as someone else above pointed out, this type of illness could be the result of alcohol and/or drug abuse

Source: Charlie Sheen Doesn't Think He Has a Problem

Has 2011 already caught up with Charlie Sheen?

A source close to the actor tells me that reports of a two-day-long bender aren't true—because Sheen has been on a so-called bender for weeks.

Sheen most certainly did not land in the hospital this morning because of an overdose, the source assures me, but doctors are still trying to pinpoint exactly what's wrong.

"Charlie keeps saying it's his hernia," the source says. "He was curled up in a ball in excruciating pain" before one of the friends at his house called 911 this morning.

Oddly enough, the source adds, the pal who summoned the ambulance first phoned Dr. Paul Nassif, the plastic surgeon hubby of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof-Nassif, who in turn told the friend that Sheen needed help from other doctors. Nassif also called 911.

Makes sense, considering Sheen didn't need a nose job...

"He says things like, 'Men like me don't die,'" the source says of Sheen, adding that the Two and a Half Men star does not think he has a problem. "Give him some free time and he's off and running."
