Yeah totally.
I know everyone's complaining about his accent in Green Street but damn I loved it. And if I remember correctly he had one in Children of Men too.
It's just a huge difference if a Brit says "Darling" or an American.![]()
Ah yeah it's the specific thing when you are so used to accents in the UK (or anywhere else on that matter), you just pick it and point out the ick factor. I mean Fassbender's German accent/speaking bugged the eff' outta me in Inglorious Basterds but I guess it's how Tarantino wanted his undercover character to play it. Yeah in Children of Men, CH had one too, but he was shouting through them dreadlocks most of the time

Anyway, sometimes it happens to lose the accent but you can get back on it pretty quick. When I moved to France for a while I was so immersed into the French universe that I lost the Brit accent for a while and even forgot some English words at some point... and when I moved back to the UK, the weirdest thing happened and it clicked back naturally... huh!
Darling is such a common thing to say here but yeah the accent does the trick!
