one could argue the merits of his choice to post a response to the nasty "fans" but that was his decision and i applaud him for defending his longtime girlfriend. Yes, he asked his long time friend to post the message on a closed board because they knew it would be reposted and the message would be get out there and indeed it did. For all those who thought it was a fake because they knew him so well that wasn't the case. Unfortunately, charlie had to make a video to authenticate his message and to apologize to his long time friend for the flack she took for posting the message.

One has to wonder if the so called "fans" who are the nasty culprits here will even "get" the message he tried to convey to them.

Here's the reality check for those so called "fans". You are never going to be his girlfriend, he is never going to fall in love you. If you have to spew all that venom at his girlfriend for you to feel better about yourselves, then maybe you need some professional help.

+1

Luckily, this is not a fan page but a gossip site. So all opinions are welcomed not just those of "fans".

But there is a difference between gossip and being mean just because you can. I don't think the poster was saying that no one couldn't give a negative opinion but when it moves from that to just being spiteful and degrading, is it really necessary? I saw some of the comments posted about Morgana and they definitely weren't just opinions, people were just writing pure venom in the hopes that it might hurt. I don't think those kind of comments are really necessary even if this a gossip site.

First of all, that was on a different forum. Didn't happen here. And we're actually not allowed to talk about other forums.

But I get that. There's no need to call her ugly or other stuff. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But there's other stuff posted about her that is actually true and that's what's rubbing some people the wrong way. They don't want to read anything negative about the girlfriend of Charlie Hunnam. I don't understand why but some are wired that way.
The other question is why do these two even know about it now? I'm pretty sure they were mostly blissfully unaware of it all. Morgana could've easily blocked the nasty people on Instagram and that was it. But there were people that thought it's a good idea to go directly to Charlie and tell him about it. Of course he gets worried especially if they tell him only half the stories. If you are the partner of a celebrity you need to grow thick skin. Do you think she's the first getting called names on the internet? Surely not. The smart move would've been to just ignore it all and not acknowledge it. Now he has engaged them and given them power they didn't have before. Have you seen Cumberbatch calling out his fan about his wife? No. Have you seen the Twihards getting called out? No. Because that opens up just a whole new can of nastiness. If he had a top notch publicist the last few days wouldn't even have happened. At his level of career he needs to surround himself with a great team and not with some publicist that's looking out more for her own publicity than for her clients'.

Whether you are a fan of Charley, or not, does not give you the right to dig into his personal life and try to degrade him or anything that is involved in that personal life. He has the right to say "STOP" just like anyone else. I don't see how he is creating a "mess" by saying or doing what he has done. It appears that it shows good taste to those of us who are fans; those of us who are not dreaming that we are going to play a role in his future - other than supporting his talent. I am pleased to see that many of us are fans of Morgana as well as fans of Charley. I don't know how long they have been together, but I don't really need to - I am sure they do, and that is not for me to argue. My best to both of them.

He's "creating a mess" by acknowledging it in the first place. If they want to be private, stay private. People who have nothing to do with their spare time will be internet trolls. That's just the way the world works. He should have just let it pass. IMO.

By failing to admit that someone you love is important enough to be defended is the ideal way to keep a bunch of weird sisters on Morgana's case from now on. Just because he is in show business doesn't give anybody the right to put either one of them down. I defend my ideas here; you defend your ideas here. Does that make sense to say he shouldn't? Whoever you are and whatever you do you should let these infantile people know that it isn't acceptable. I would think that the video and statements through his friend gives Morgana a very special feeling. After all, she is the one hurt the most from all this.

I find this whole situation comical. He and his GF need to develop some thick skin. Either way, it's all foolishness that has kept me entertained.

She has been receiving criticism for years but I think the final straw were the comments and pictures posted driving past their house with captions stating that Morgana needed to be "dealt with". I think it became a safety issue. The comments and pictures have since been deleted.

Sadly many fans think the Internet is real life and don't know how to separate it from reality. However, he's going to have to deal with this as his reality as an entertainer who is idolized by many women as a sex symbol. And, as a byproduct, his GF will unfortunately have to deal with obsessive fans as well. He's hardly the first celeb to deal with such and will hardly be the last.

And as a negative consequence of all this being on mainstream gossip sites now some of them might have enough time on their hands to actually look into the girlfriend and her past. And that could damage his career. Because as liberal as Hollywood might seem no one wants this kind of association to their leading man.

I applaud the sentiment of his message (lord knows there are no shortage of crazy "fans" out there) but nothing perpetuates craziness like that statement.

Hunnam is probably one of those actors that only hires a publicist for the few months before or after he has a movie or TV show is coming out, the rest of the time he's probably on his own. I can see how without a full time publicist he would take the route he did.

Also being a lower level celeb you might not have the layers of protection a bigger pay check might afford.
