Chanel handbags are coming to Nordstrom VALLEY FAIR? wow! when? has this been confirmed?
Yes, I spoke to the ladies at the beauty counters, even the Chanel beauty counter and they confirmed it will come sometime in August (prob late August I’m guessing). On the second floor they even posted a preview of the floor plans once renovations are done.

That's crazy that Dior SF was robbed like that because when I went last month they kept the doors locked and only opened them to let in each person in line :amazed: And I assume the criminals didn't wait in line... Maybe they pretended to ask the doorman a question and then maced him

Things just keep getting get worse and worse. Looks like Neiman Marcus right across from Chanel got robbed in broad daylight yesterday. <iframe width="476" height="267" src="https://abc7news.com/video/embed/?pid=10866419" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Prior to that, Dior SF nearby was robbed during store hours and the employees were maced. Prior to that Union Square Saks was robbed. Not that it's any better across the Bay: LV and Neiman Marcus at Stanford were both robbed as well. Looks like these are all organized groups.
My SA in SF recently asked me if I wanted to come pick up an item or have it delivered to my house. I did not hesitate to tell her to deliver it. It's just not safe to go to these luxury places anymore, and potentially get robbed yourself, and even worse: injured. It is so disheartening and angering that people think it's okay to steal from others. These people need to get jobs and work for what they want. Our lack of enforcement and legal ramifications is a joke, and these low lifes know it.
Exactly. My BFF and I started to go to Stanford because Union Square was getting so unsafe, only to find that Stanford is getting swarm robbed as well. So now we are on to Valley Fair. But I am not holding on to any fantasy that we are safe there either.

And to confirm what others are reporting here, an SA told me when I was purchasing a bag a couple months ago at the Nordstrom Valley Fair that they were indeed getting a Chanel boutique soon. So that will be nice. Dior is open and very nice as well. There is so much great shopping at this mall; Cartier, Tiffany, Bulgari, Bloomingdales - which has its own LV, plus there is a stand alone LV as well, Prada, and more.

Wow I didn't notice those signs at all! Now I won't have to make the Trek. I wonder how big the section will be...

Seriously this is so crazy! Bloomingdales VF got robbed a couple weeks ago, and I wouldn’t have known if it didn’t happen right before I got there. It’s just easier to carry a non-branded handbag for my safety nowadays. Stay safe everyone!
What time of day was this? I live nearby and go often... Well, I used to.

I am going to look for the card of the SA that told me about it and ask if she has an ETA. I will probably go there next weekend too, so I will ask others as well. All I know is that I was wearing a Chanel bag, and was purchasing a YSL bag, and she excitedly told me that they were getting a Chanel boutique. She told me in hushed tones, as if she was not able to speak of it yet. But she looked VERY happy about it, as I imagine she applied to work that area, and the south bay has a huge demand for Chanel shopping. I am sure it will be hoppin’ the moment it opens.

And I also want to say on the topic of safety in S.F. that my concern is not only about MY safety, but also the people working in the stores. I have gotten to know several SA’s, plus one SA in particular who I have known for a few years, and I worry for their safety. Going to work should not be dangerous or scary. I can choose not to go shopping, and all is well. Or I can order via phone and text, and not put myself in any risk and still get my beautiful things. But this is their livelihood.

Yes, please update when you find out. I was told by a salesperson in handbags recently that Chanel handbags would open towards the end of the year, and that it would occupy the current two sections near the exit.
(Although, when she told me that I was thinking: putting Chanel near the exit might not be the best idea. But, what do I know?)

Ooh good update! A SA at Chanel at Stanford NM told me the VF location wouldn’t open until next year. I’d love to see it open sooner than next year, but I’m not so sure I’ll be shopping with the string of robberies we’ve had lately. Hoping all SAs and purse lovers are safe as well.

What time of day was this? I live nearby and go often... Well, I used to.
Friday around 7pm. At the time it happened, sunset was around 8:30pm, so it was still bright (and very busy) outside.

I haven’t been back to VF since and am taking this as a cue to stay home and save money, lol. It hit a little too close to home to see the shattered glass and chaos that understandably unfolded after.

I lived in Detroit for a few years and didn’t feel as unsafe carrying designer bags then as I do now in the Bay Area. All I can really do now is watch my surroundings, warn my mom and relatives, and and leave my nice bags/jewelry at home. Hope there is some kind of change sooner than later.

I ended up going yesterday evening because it was so hot and we don't have AC. I noticed a lot of police presence around the mall. Hopefully that prevents some of the crime. And I can't believe they still haven't caught any of these people!

The Nordstrom SA at Valley Fair I spoke to today said their Chanel will be opening this November. :)
