I agree with everything @BigAkoya says
I saw this style and I didn’t try as I really don’t like patent for this type of shoe. While I absolutely love the turnlock detail I didn’t like the combination of the black patent and the gold heel as I found it quite flashy. If they were in regular leather I would much prefer them.

Having said that they do look really good on your feet so if you feel you will get the use from them then definitely keep! I got the second mesh style as they are super comfortable and casual - the patent is less conspicuous as it’s on the edge on the CC detail rather than the whole upper.

Hi! I sure do remember the 101801! That was a fun thread as we were splitting hairs on coat fit!

I completely agree with you on shoe fit, and your Harrod's SA on shoes stretching out is spot on.

A "C" is for the width of the shoe (B is standard), and often, the difference is in the toebox and wide part of the foot, where the bunion is! I think you will like the C width for more comfort. C is rare, almost non-existent, in the US for a closed toe shoe such as a pump.
C is standard though for thong sandals as feet tend to "spread" when walking with thong sandals. I think nearly all my thong sandals are C width which I appreciate.

Since we are talking about widths and sizes...
I thought it might be fun and interesting to share how to read a shoe box in case you or others might be interested.
I got started on this because I have to order all my shoes as none of the dept stores near me carry Chanel shoes.
I am also super picky about heel height, and my max heel height is 85mm, not 90mm.
A few times, the SA would say "3 inches" but the height actually turned out to be 90mm (3.5"). It's doesn't seem like a lot of difference, but 90mm heels kill my feet and squishes my toes, so I can't deal with them. That's when I started asking my SA to verify the actual heel height from the box before he sent them to me.

That was a few years ago when I still wore high heels to work! Now, the slingback height of 65mm is my max height!:heart:

Below is the shoe box to my denim Chanel ballets.
To the left, above the photo of the shoe is "38" for my size, size 38.
To the right is "23P" for 2023, Spring (P=Printemps, which is Spring in French)
Underneath is the style code "G02819..."

Then, do you see the little "10B?" That stands for heel height and shoe width.
The "10" is the heel height in mm. In the case of ballets, it is a 10mm heel.
The "B" is the width, as in B width.

Slingbacks have a 65mm heel, so the number on your box would be 65C, for 65mm heel height, C width.
The second photo is my shoe box to my beige slingbacks. Wow... I just realized I got them so long ago!
It says REV instead of the year/season (e.g. 23P) because the beige/black cap toe are classic, revolving stock.
You can also see the “65B” on my box for 65mm heel height and B width.

Hope that was interesting and fun!

On your gorgeous slingbacks.. yes, take them out!
For your test run... go to Harrods! Take Uber (or Gett) to Harrods, walk around and shop, then have lunch at one of their restaurants (or coffee/tea at The Coffee Bar) and people watch! It will be so much fun.

I am so glad for this lesson in coding as I never understood what the numbers meant before! I knew about the B and C but it was really confusing me why some shoes I bought recently said 15C on the receipt!

I also knew what REV meant in terms of it being classic but never knew it stood for REVOLVING! How insightful!

And I've been buying these shoes for 15 years haha!

Fashion-wise, black patent leather has always been a spring/summer look. The Chanel black patent leather slides are gorgeous, and this is coming from a non-lover of slides! The gold pair leans dressier, imo.. I actually like both pairs - the mesh leans more casual, and could make the argument that they are different enough to keep both!

Does anyone have experience with patent slides? These were a bit of an unplanned spend but I love them. Is there any concern with the patent getting sticky for example, and what do you think of the gold heel? I prefer understated, and want to be able to walk around the city and enjoy them. I have to justify the spend so I don’t want to take any risk if these materials aren’t the right move.

The mesh cc slides I retuned them for due to size issues were cheaper, simple for frequent wear, but when I tried them on for her to compare to the patent SA had a good comment - she said with those she “sees my foot before she sees the shoe”, which means less flattering IMO.

Any experience or concern with the durability of the gold heel, patent?

I don’t think they come in colors, I can’t decide if I like it or if it’s too much bling. I would love to see it in person. I also just bought the silver glitter slingback so it might be too similar.

I tried to buy the Navy sequin slingback and it’s already sold out, I thought it was new collection??

The glitter slingbacks are so pretty from the videos I saw. May I know if the glittery portion of the shoe is leather or fabric? Do they feel delicate? I don’t live near a boutique so I can’t try them on. Thanks!

Hi
They are leather and then coated in the glitter but I’m not sure if they is a layer of fabric in between (if that makes sense) as the glitter is quite dense. They don’t feel delicate at all, quite the opposite. I think they are far hardier than typical metallic leathers.

Since we love to enable on this forum…:giggle:
For anyone on the fence about these - here is a pic of the 3 different glitter slingbacks

Are the black and Champagne offered in the US? I have only seen the silver being offered.

The glitter was shedding for me but I hope that was only after I took them out of the box and they were probably rubbing against things.

I’m not sure as I purchased in the uk. We had all three colours for slingbacks and ballerinas too but I’m sure I saw somewhere on the forum someone ordered the ballerinas from Europe as the US didn’t order all 3 colours

Yes I got a bit of shedding when it rubbed against something too!

Hi!I f you don't have to have all the glitter, there is a "copper" color at NM, smooth, no glitter. It looks more champagne to me in the LookBook, but I haven't seen it in real life. Price is $1000.00.

A 36.5 will be longer in length than a 36 for sure. If a 36 fits you perfectly, the 36.5 will have more room in the back.
For a slingback, it's not the end of the world because it is an open heel. The width will be slightly wider too, so that is the bigger worry versus the length.

Are you in the US? I am not sure which diamante shoes you want, but my NM SA might be able to get them for you. He is taking pre-orders now for Spring Act II, so let me know. I'm happy to help if I can.

I am in the UK or would have taken you up on the offer for sure!

My first Chanel shoes but already know they won’t be my last…

Does anyone know what season they are from? The box doesn’t say. Also does the metallic leather D7BEBDCE-117F-4A70-991D-4BEF55C53945.jpeg
