Hi! Prior to COVID, I traveled weekly, so that's a lot of shoes in luggage case.
I put my shoes in the Chanel dust bag and then in my luggage case.

The key to storing shoes in my luggage case is to put them on their side, like how they come in a show box. I do not put them facing up (soles down) as they get squished more that way. Putting them on their side will help with them being squished from the top. I also put the sole of the shoe on the edge of the luggage case (think super size shoe box where the shoes are stored on their side).

When I return from travel, they will always be a bit squished, but no worries. All I do is put my feet in them for a few seconds to get them to puff back up. I then place them on my shoe display rack. I do not use shoes trees.

I used to use shoe trees, but I stopped. For me, I felt that with a shoe tree, the tension of keeping the shoe taut, even if it's slight tension, stretches them ever so slightly and I did not like that (that's how cobblers stretch shoes, via tension). If you don't use any tension, then there is no point to using the shoe tree as it's not even touching the leather.

For me, I find the the best solution has been to:
- Store them on their side in the luggage (the way shoes come on the side in the shoe box). This is the secret sauce in my opinion.
- When you take them out of your luggage, put your feet in them to puff them back up
- Store them normally, no tension shoe trees

That's just me.
By the way, I used to put a sock inside my shoe for travel, and yes, they do not get squished as much. However, since I started to put my feet in the shoe after I took them out of the luggage case when I returned from travel, I stopped doing that. I found this little trick works the best to puff them back up. Leather just puffs right back up. If you feel more comfortable stuffing them with socks, that works too and no harm as there is no "tension." You can tell I am anti-tension on shoe trees.

That's my experience, and I do a lot of travel. My shoes never stay squished. Hope this helps.
I have always stuffed shoes with socks, underwear or anything crushable. It keeps the shoe shape and it better utilizes space in your case. Do the same for the DH. I usual place them on their side and up against the sides of the case with the heel pointed to the hard side of the case. Never had a problem with that.

@gracekelly— I was reminded of your slingbacks as soon as I saw these- I remembered the beading from your post, but had forgotten the exact shoe style. It worked out for the best, as I can’t wear heels, but can rock the look in ballerinas!

I originally wanted the black T-strap sandals, but these are a step up!

Hi Mimolette,
I know you posted these a while ago but I've been trying to find the beaded/ bow ballerinas anywhere online forever (I've gone through all the "Chanel ballerinas" search hoping someone will have posted them!), so I could find their reference/ name.

They're not on the Chanel website, could you kindly share it with me?

They're so pretty, fun yet still elegant. Feel free to share any other photos of them, it just makes me happy to look at them too :loveeyes::heart:

Hi Everyone! Does anyone have advice on sizing for the turnlock loafer? Should I size up half a size or a whole size? Thank you!
Hi! I have two pairs and purchased my usual Chanel size for both pairs. I was so sure I had to size up, so I bought both sizes to be sure. The larger ones were too long. I posted earlier what I did for the width, so if width is your concern, that might help.

I think people size up mainly due to width.

The leather is stiff, so this also factors in to why some folks want to size up.

For me, my usual size worked out great.

Hope this helps.

Do u have any mod shot you could share please? Thank you!
Hi! Here is a photo of my booties. They are super comfy. I love the fact they are not super chunky trendy, so the style will last and be classic. My Saks also does not carry Chanel, but you can ask and they will search and find. If you want to buy more Chanel shoes, that would be a good way to build a relationship with your local SA so he/she knows you like Chanel shoes and can get them for you and show you new stock. You just need to give the style number which you can get on the website since this shoe is posted there.

Plan B...
I looked up the FedEx shipping packag info for this shoe on the FedEx App, and it says my package/booties came from Philadelphia, so try calling that Saks shoe dept. NYC I am sure also got them, but NYC can be a pain to work on the phone, depending on which SA you get.

The booties also came in red. I almost ordered the red too, but I decided against it. I prefer red shoes (e.g. ballets, sandals, loafers) vs red booties. I am waiting on a red loafer to show up!

Plan C...
If your SA cannot/will not search for them and Philly is out of your size and will also not search for you...
Call Chanel Customer Service. Give them the style number, tell you need a size 39, and the customer service rep will tell you what stores have that exact shoe. I've done that a couple of times desperate to find a shoe from 2-3 seasons back where they are no longer on the floor showroom. I've had success both times which surprised me (one of my shoes, white slingbacks, was in NM Naples and the other shoe I wanted pink espadrilles, was in Chanel Bellagio). This was about two years ago though, so I am not sure if Chanel still offers this given the pandemic business shifts.

Good luck! I think you will find them. They are relatively new.

Let me know if Plan C worked. I am curious if they still do this service.
When I got my pink espadrilles by Chanel Bellagio, I asked the SA to check on another pair of shoes. She said she did not have them, and she was not able to get stock from other stores.

As in...
- She did not want to put the extra effort to help OR
- It's true, and SAs cannot grab limited stock from other stores.

Which if the latter is true, I'll start calling Chanel Customer Service again to find the exact store that has my size.
Such drama finding popular shoes these days.

I hope you find them! Good luck!
