Thank you so much. Yes, I've asked my SA in freestand boutique but she can't find it. I did see the new season loafers but unfortunately not a fan of the heart logo detail, was trying to find a more subtle piece. Really appreciate your help!
Do you not like these?
I like them a lot, and they are comfy.
Saks just got fresh stock in. You may already have them though.
Just FYI.

I wanted an honest feedback on the chanel slingbacks (flat ones) - are they comfortable say for around 8 hours of wear (work hours)
Hi there.. i have a pair of slingbacks flat and have walked in them for more then 2hrs.. it does created friction around the sides of my feet near the toes. But it really depends on inviduals. If you are mostly seated at work, i think the discomfort level is minimal. In fact, my slingbacks pumps walks better.. ironically..

Ohh, wondering it would work on me cause my feet are quite wide I would say. I am mostly seated but I also do long walks when grabbing lunch and going to office and back home… wonder if you also have the dior slingbacks? been eyeing these 2 and looking feedback on how they compare

I do have a pair of leather dior slingbacks too. In terms of broadness, the dior seems to be broader. Both have similar levels of comfort and discomfort for me..

I would probably skip that shoe. When I tried it on, I felt the shoe was so light and thin, even the leather. I even said that to the SA "it feels so thin and airy" and that's when the SA said it was really a slipper and not really meant for heavy duty wear.
Plus, you are paying for that cute, but useless pouch that will sit in your closet.

I hear you on soft soles. I walk a lot when I travel, especially in big cities with concrete sidewalks. Comfort is my thing.
Ballets are of course super comfy, but if you want a look more substantial than a ballet, here is another super comfy style.
My SA recommended this shoe. At first, I did not like the style, but he told me it was super soft and super comfy. Okay.. I caved.
Wow... it sure is! It feels great on, and the funny thing is I hesitated buying this shoe due to the huge logo. Ironically, I get compliments on this shoe because of that darn tacky logo.:heart: The style is the classic Belgian loafer look.

Anyway, you might not like this style. I would not exactly call this high fashion chunky loafer as the style is today.
Rather, it's more a classic Belgian loafer look. For comfort... you cannot beat it. It came in black, beige, and red.

Interestingly when I recently went to hawaii, the shoe salon is separate and they had a great range of shoes. Most I tried on were C unknowingly. I asked the SA and she mentioned it was the only separate Chanel shoe salon and that they get C for everything. I don’t have an SA there but if it’s feasible to where you live, I would try to get an SA from customer support or from the forum. If you can get an order delivered it might be your best bet?
I went to Chanel shoe counter in a department store in Italy and they had most of the shoes in C width, I ended up getting classic slingbacks in 37,5C. I was surprised how comfy slingbacks are, considering they have a heel, and the SA said it’s thanks for C width that stands for Comfort.

I'm so glad you found a pair you like! The slingbacks are super comfy to me.
Yes, in some countries, shoes come in C width. The widths are lettered with A being narrow and B being standard/normal width most shoes come in. C is wide, and many Asian countries I understand carry C width also. Some companies who focus on width carry D width (e.g. Ferragamo).

With Chanel US, nearly all their closed toe shoes are B width as the standard width (e.g. pumps, ballets). Their thongs sandals though seem to all be C width (I have over 20 thongs sandalsand all are C width).

I think ballets come in C width in Asia, so if you like ballets, perhaps they also come in C width in Italy as well, or you can order them.

I am so happy you found a pair! Chanel shoes are addicting. I hope you find more Chanel shoes you love!
Congratulations!

Thanks for the detailed info, wow, I had no idea Ferragamo has shoes in D width! Yes, Chanel shoes are addicting, I already want another pair of slingbacks, perhaps in black or in navy blue!

My friend is a Ferragamo addict, and she has bought that brand for many years (I call her shoes, the "bow" shoes). They used to offer tons of widths, and she liked them as her feet were very narrow so she could order narrow widths. I found a short explanation of shoe widths for Ferragamo.

On the Chanel slingbacks, I assume you bought the beige/black cap toes. That's the classic combo.
For what it's worth, I'm a big Chanel shoe fan, and I find that black/black cap toe doesn't look great to me. I love the contrast of the black cap toe (e.g. against beige, ivory, white, pink, ...). It just pops. I rarely, if ever, wear my black/black cap toe shoes.
Check out ballet flats too... they are going to be big time spring 2023.

This is Ferragamo, but this width alphabet applies is pretty universal (e.g. in Chanel, 38B is size 38, regular width).

SIZING OF FERRAGAMO

  • Ferragamo sizing is a little confusing, but once you get the hang of it, it’s really easy. Here’s how…
  • Width of shoes: AAAA (narrowest width), AAA (narrower), AA (narrow), B (regular width), C (wide width), D (widest width). In Asian countries, Ferragamo stores tend to stock wider widths like C and D width, I’m not sure why, it could be because Asian feet may be wider. When you see 9B, the number is the US size.
  • I’m a UK 7, Euro 39 to 40 and I have wide feet. I wear 9B in Ferragamo Varas, and they fit me quite well. I can also wear 9.5B, 9C, 10 AA.

I would love some advice on care for the classic leather slingbacks! Does anyone use a shaper/insert to keep the leather from creasing? Mine got scrunched a bit in my bag when traveling recently and I’m keen on getting them “uncreased” again. Any recommendations?
