I think walking down an incline in any shoe needs some caution.
Except for sneakers and casual "rubber sole" shoes, most standard shoes have leather soles, both men and women. In that sense, Chanel shoes, without the Chanel label, is just another leather sole shoe that millions of people wear. That's my thoughts.
Yes, I love my Chanel shoes with rubber soles and they do make them.

Purchased my first pair of heeled slingbacks this past week. Beautiful shoe! Do they stretch much? I’m wondering if the slingback will eventually stretch out with wear. I bought my true size, and they fit well. Not tight, not loose.
Hi! I have three pairs, and they all fit fine with almost no stretch. The most comfy is the beige as the leather is softer. My stiffest pair is my white, but they stretched a tiny tiny bit in the toe area which was good. Each color/season seems to use different leathers… calf, lamb, etc.

I think you will be fine though. Congrats on your slingbacks!

Thanks so much for the feedback. Excited to wear them!

Has anyone seen these anywhere?

Hi! According to the post, they are from cruise 21/22 which means they were around back in Nov/Dec 2021. That's about 5 seasons ago, so that's a long time. Odds are low you will find one. However, there are a couple of new tweed slingbacks this season you might want to take a look to see if you like them.

If not, and you want something white-based, cruise 23 is right around the corner, so I'd wait.
Here are two really really bad photos of tweed sling backs for 22K (Fall Act II).
Depending on your boutique and country, your SA may have different versions. These are from NM.

Good luck! I hope you find a sling back you like!

Hi! Yes, these were marketed as slippers; hence it came with a pouch. The sole is a bit thin.
I tried the beige ones on at BG... it was about 3-4 years ago, so this is an old style. I did not purchase it as the bottom is really thin, as a "slipper" should be. The SA said he really would not recommend it as a daily shoe to walk around in the city.

The pouch was to put your slipper in the pouch for travel/on a plane...that was the idea. I recall the pouch has no zipper or anything, just an envelope flap, so it was not useful (I was thinking I could use it as a clutch or something, but it was not well made like true clutch or handbag).

Super cute lounging shoe though... if you are thinking of that, it's super super cute.

Hope this helps.

ETA: By the way, if you are looking for a true loafer with this similar shape, they exist for sure! The style loafer (real shoe for walking) was out for many seasons before this "slipper" version. The slipper version was only one season as I recall.
If you want this loafer look for real walking :heart:, you can probably find some on resale websites as the look was super popular. I personally like the true loafer version as it has a CC logo on the top. Like this one... very beautiful to me. Just FYI...

Youre right. Tq on the note on thin soles. The proper name is smoking slippers for home lounging in your silk robe and thin ciggies ever present in your hand. Thin soles makes sense. LOL. I do wonder if you can add rubber soles to make it street friendly. It is cute.

Actually just browsing Preloved Sellers IGs and that jumped out and i got curious.(Seller calls it loafers and i use her term)

Tq on true loafers recommendation. I just might get that one instead of the espradilles ive been wishing on (hard sole is not suitable for me)

I would probably skip that shoe. When I tried it on, I felt the shoe was so light and thin, even the leather. I even said that to the SA "it feels so thin and airy" and that's when the SA said it was really a slipper and not really meant for heavy duty wear.
Plus, you are paying for that cute, but useless pouch that will sit in your closet.

I hear you on soft soles. I walk a lot when I travel, especially in big cities with concrete sidewalks. Comfort is my thing.
Ballets are of course super comfy, but if you want a look more substantial than a ballet, here is another super comfy style.
My SA recommended this shoe. At first, I did not like the style, but he told me it was super soft and super comfy. Okay.. I caved.
Wow... it sure is! It feels great on, and the funny thing is I hesitated buying this shoe due to the huge logo. Ironically, I get compliments on this shoe because of that darn tacky logo.:heart: The style is the classic Belgian loafer look.

Anyway, you might not like this style. I would not exactly call this high fashion chunky loafer as the style is today.
Rather, it's more a classic Belgian loafer look. For comfort... you cannot beat it. It came in black, beige, and red.
