Are these true to size? My SA is trying to locate them for me. TIA!
Yes, they were for me. I wear a size 38 in all Chanel shoes, and I purchased this in a 38.
I also like the other slides I purchased. I got them in white, but they also came in black. I also got 38.

They are beautiful shoes, and I hope you find a pair. Good luck to you!

My thoughts on this slide...
This is an elegant slide. It is slim, and the sole is slim, so it should be a perfect fit, like the slingbacks.
It is not like a chunky dad slide where the sole is chunky so the fit should be bigger and looser (more sloppy looking which is the goal). People are so used to chunky loose slides now.

My other white slide I recently purchased is more of a chunky slide and has a chunky bottom. That slide is a bit longer and has more room, which it should. So while both are size 38s and fit me, they look slightly differently, as they should.

To me, it's all about aesthetic. I think of this slide as a feminine slide, similar to the slingbacks, and when wearing my slingbacks, I like the heel to end just a tiny bit before the edge. With a chunky slide, I actually prefer a bit more space, which is how my white chunky slide looks.

I hope that makes sense. It's all preference of course, but for a thin, feminine slide, I don't think a lot of space near the heel looks good. It ends up looking like a slipper that's too big and then the toes creep over the front edge of the shoe which is not a good look to me.

If you want it looser, maybe try the next size up for peace of mind. The width will be wider too so you might get that toe over edge issue, but at least you will know to compare. Maybe have your SA search for any color the next half size up to have peace of mind if you are not sure.

I am so happy you got a pair! I love this slide. Very versatile. I hope you will like it too.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give me a detailed explanation. I appreciate it. I took the same size as my slingbacks. And the slingbacks are true to size for me so I think I made the right choice by not getting the next size up. Plus I do like it to look more feminine and not like slippers lol since I wear a lot of dresses.

I sold my tts and found another pair in my tts but with C width at a Chanel boutique. The C width feels like 0.5 size up, so much roomier than my previous one. I love how they look too and plan to wear them mostly with ankle socks bc it’s more comfortable.
Did the back of the shoe loosen up? My tts fits fine but the back feels really stiff

Hi! I am a huge Chanel shoe fan, and that is the only brand I buy. On top of that, I am super huge ballet person and have purchased tons of ballets over the years.

That said...
The silver ballet was my least favorite and least used ballet. I got rid of it. Why?
I felt the metallic got a bit dated looking to me after a couple of seasons. I thought I would love the silver, it's a neutral/goes with everything, but sadly, I did not. You mentioned you are in your late 40s, and I personally feel metallic looks aging. Color is much more happy, fresh, alive, and pops.

If I could have only one ballet, it would be the classic beige/black toe. The second ballet would be the white/black toe, so perfect for summer! I love ballets in colors and have a lot of colors.

I also have the espadrilles in beige, and I feel they are totally different looks. The espadrille is more chunkier summer vibe, and the ballet is more feminine vibe that can go also into fall.

If it were me, I would return the silver and get a color if you don't want the beige or white. That's just me.

By the way, on the beige/black combo... in addition to the ballet and espadrilles, I also have the slingbacs, pumps, and other beige/black combo. That combo is amazing; it's iconic Chanel and goes with everything. It's the style that makes the difference.

I see tons of elegant over 40 ladies in their beige ballet... pure casual elegance.

Just my two cents. It's all preference of course. Hope this helps.
I am a big ballerines fan too and starting my own collection of them! Wondering if you have shared your ballet collection before? :girlsigh:

Hi! Glad to meet another ballet lover! And you know what... while ballets are a classic style and never go out of style, they are coming in style big time now!
I'm so glad to see ballets from so many other brands, not just Chanel. Long live the ballet (especially Chanel ballets!)

Glad to know you are also a Chanel die-hard!:heart:
I have posted my ballets here and there, but not my full collection. My favorite combo of all are my white ones with black cap toe.
I just love love love white ballets. Currently in my collection, I have three white variations.. a pure white, a quilted off-white, and a kind of iridescent white. Of the three whites, the pure white is my favorite. My pale pinks are my next favorite.

If you are starting a ballet collection, I hope you consider white too.
My first pair was the classic beige. Those are timeless, and I wear those in the spring/summer as well as fall.
I love the pale pinks too and other colors. I am a big fan of ballets in colors.

As FYI, the color I wear the least are my blacks. I have the classic lambskin black and also a black patent. I don't think I've worn those in years, but I haven't gotten rid of them yet, not sure why.:heart:
I bought them because black is safe but for me, black is also boring. Hence, no more black shoes for me.

Good luck collecting! There are tons of options each season, so don't worry if you don't see anything you like one season. Don't panic buy is my advice as I have done that. There will always be more ballets next season.

Hi hi! It’s ballets for me any day of the year, they are just very comfortable!
I have not gotten a white one YET but I am looking on the white pearly ballets I saw in the boutique the other week aside from the yellow ones!

My first pair is the classic beige too! Then I have the pink tweed and quilted red ones. I have seen a lot of pinks this year and some yellows too! My next one would probably the yellow tweed with white cap that I saw from the same boutique, it’s from a previous season so I hope they still have it in my size!

Thanks for the insight about the black ones. I probably will not purchase a black one for the same reason that it is quite boring  or maybe I’ll get the quilted black ones?

It is so hard to visit a boutique without wanting to purchase the ballerines (or ballets), I feel like I just want to get them all a lot of times I just have to stop myself:eek: Good advice you got there! Thank you!

Also, do you put anything on the soles? Or you just let them be?

Hi! You have a great collection! I love pink too! I used to wear my yellow ones often (I got the matching bag), but recently, I am drawn to white, pink, and orange! I have a bright orange pair that is super fun in the summer. By the way, I have red ones too! We are shoe twins!

On black...
All I can say about black is everytime I buy something Chanel black, I think "oh, it's a classic, I must buy it." Then, after the inital excitement of the purchase and wearing it maybe 4-5 times, I am tired of it... boring! It's just a boring black ballet. This is also true of my black Chanel bags which I never wear. So... think about what outfits you will wear with black ballets.

For me, I love color! And...if I am wearing an all black outfit, I love wearing all black with my beige ballets! That beige with black cap toe is such a gorgeous combo!

On the sole, I keep the sole as-is. Why?
Because to me, a ballet is a feminine shoe, and the sole is meant to be feminine and thin. I have seen people who resole their ballets with a rubber sole, and yes, if you look at it from the top view, you would not notice. However, that is not real life. You, and others, see your shoe at an angle, and you see the sole. Plus, you see that "cut" where they put the half sole on, and I think it takes away from the beauty of the original sole, even if the sole is worn. It is no longer one nice piece of leather; it's all chopped up. I travel a lot, so I am always sitting around at airports, people watching. To me, when I see a ballet with a rubber sole, it ruins the look for me. That's just my opinion of course.

Everyone is so afraid of wearing out the sole, but for me...
I have walked miles and miles in my ballets, including harsh walking like the concrete streets of NYC. For me, the leather gets all beat up before the sole. My soles have never had a hole. I buy new ballets because the leather is beat up, or I've worn them so much they are out of shape. I never had to replace a ballet because the sole had a hole.

One thing I do however, is watch the heel and get new heels. I see a lot of shoes with heels that are worn out which is not an attractive look. I regularly check my heels to see if the are getting worn down.

Oh, one more thought... the original heel on the ballet I find a bit slippery as that rubber portion is a stiff rubber. Either that, or I walk funny and my weight is on the heel. If you also find the original heel a bit slippery, just replace it with a new heel. My cobbler has heels that are made in Italy, and the rubber portion is a bit softer. Hence, it doesn't slip as much to me. It's not a big deal, but just FYI in case you notice that.

By the way, do you like royal blue? It's rare color, and it's back now after several years. I have this color and love it. Just FYI...

I will probably add more in the next few months or so :giggle: I am naturally drawn to pink shades too! Haven't seen any orange ballets in a while, I wonder what orange ballet you have! Red shoes are definitely a wardrobe staple!

I have not added anything on the sole of my shoes as well but it is a thought that came in my mind, just so it will not wear that much since I am always walking in concrete streets (HK).

That's a great insight on the heels, I have not noticed that or maybe I am always walking very cautiously since I am aware that the ballets have slippery soles as they are very smooth  Another thing I consider is putting a sticker on the soles of the shoes, it will protect the shoe and make it less slippery. I came across those sticker soles in instagram and thinking if I should get it or not, although wearing of the soles does not bother me really.

Love that royal blue but have not seen in store... all they have was the lighter shade of blue *sigh*

I am so so SO happy to finally add the dad sandals to my collection!! But I have a question. The logo is decorated with little stones and I am worried they will fall out. If they do, it will ruin the look of the shoes.

I do not think Chanel will fix them (or will they?). I was thinking of applying a coat of top coat nail polish, but do you guys think that is a good idea? Thank you for the suggestions.

Chanel will fix defects. I had a tiny CC gold logo fall off, and Chanel replaced it for me.
My friend has the Chanel CC crystal earrings, and one of the crystals fell off. Chanel repaired her earrings. Both of these issues occurred within a year of purchase, so the replacement piece was still available. I would think if a crystal falls out 25 years from now, they may not have a replacement. As FYI, for Chanel repairs of bags/shoes, there is a company called Santana Leather that does amazing repairs and gets replacement parts. I think they actually have a repair & drop off inside Bergdorf Goodman which is how good they are. Here is their info for future reference: https://www.santanaleathercare.com/

I don't think the top coat of nail polish will do anything in terms of adding durability. It's just just nail polish and will wear off, so I personally would not do that. If you are really really really worried, you can send it off to add extra "crazy-glue" to the base of the stones as that is what really holds in the stones. For me, I would just leave it and if it ever happens, I am certain you can get it resolved.

Congratulations on your new sandals!
