Hello Ladies,

It is my birthday coming up and I want to indulge a bit in the shoes. I am torn between Chanel flat Strappy sandals and Prada chunky loafers( attaching the pics for reference) I feel like loafers are very me but then I can wear the chanel sandals for several years without looking dated. Please help me pick one :/

As much as I love Chanel, if these are your top choices, I'd go for Prada. You can find Chanel T strap sandal (especially in colors) often in seasonal sale if you get lucky, but Prada one look more classic that it may not go on sale. (Unless the Red Chanel Sandals are your must have and in that case of course I'd choose the sandals and wouldn't take any chance!)

Hi! I vote the Chanel sandals, and here are my thoughts.

Chanel is classic, and the leather thong sandals are timeless and classic Chanel. I have many pairs. Red Chanel shoes are also hard to come by! I have been buying Chanel for years, and I love flat sandals and ballets. Red does not pop up every season, so I would grab these for sure (yes, I have a red thong sandal with a silver logo).

The Prada are very on trend now, but they are too on trend and once the chunky sole loafer look fades, yes, it will look dated. I have purchased really on trend shoes in the past, and I usually stop wearing them after two “seasons” which is two years.

i say “season” because shoes have seasons. The sandals of course are spring/summer, but honestly, I cannot see the chunky loafers worn regularly as a summer shoe unless that’s the way you dress all the time. So even the Prada may have limited wear this spring/summer for you.

So, if you want a shoe that will be in style for years, Chanel hands down.

if you want an on trend shoe for now, Prada.

Just my two cents. Hope it helps. Good luck and happy birthday!

Hi! If your feet are wide, these will hurt. I think the sides will cut into your feet, and of course, pointy toes are always not comfy.

Have you tried the classic Chanel slingbacks? I have several pairs and love them. I can walk around all day in them, including walking around in city sidewalks.

They are also very slimming. The vamp is cut high and covers the widest part of the feet hence it's very attractive. Maybe gives those a try and compare.

Good luck!

These are really nice. I am thinking of getting these as well. I am waiting on the quilted ones first. They are all reserved, but I am on the wait list. If I don't get those, I will get these.

But now you made me think I should get them too!
They look great on you! Congrats on your new loafers!

I should post my latest shoe here too... thanks for the reminder.

Has anyone heard of/seen these pair of boots in person? I have yet to see any mod shots or any irl photos and just wanted to know how they fit! I’m short so I’m scared that the ankle length will make me look stumpy lol

Thanks for posting. I love these. I know you mentioned you were saving them for an upcoming trip but could you tell me if the mesh rubs uncomfortably against your feet? Before I try to locate I was hoping to find out how comfy they are.

I'm sorry I haven't worn them enough to say for sure. I *am* a bit worried that I bought a 36.5 when a snugger/potentially more appropriate fit might have been a 36, but like you I was worried about the mesh. I was worried if I wore them too snug they might wear down or putt too much pressure on the mesh (I have wider feet) so I got the 36.5 and I plan to wear with black no-show socks. I'll update if I get the opportunity to wear them anywhere soon :)
