Just curious, what was the deciding factor of your Shiva return? I am seriously considering buying this bag - most likely the small black, although the tannish color is beautiful - just think the black might have more versitilty - even though I already have one black Chanel....

It was the color & price. I loved it initially, but the color looked kinda dull. The hardware didn't stand out as much against the beige leather as I would have liked. I'm loving the shiva in black. Maybe I should have purchased that color instead. Also, the leather is great, very durable. Its a worry free everyday bag.
Secondly, I felt that it was a little on the pricey side for that style of bag. Who am I kidding....we are talking about Chanel.
Overall it's a lovely bag. I think purchasing a small black shiva is a great idea. I thought about doing that, but bought another Chanel instead.
Well good luck in your decision. Hope this helps.

Hi ladies

Am wondering if anyone recently bought Shiva in France? May I know the price in Euros? Am interested in the larger size (code: A67147) beige colour

In Singapore it costs $4570, am wondering how much it costs in Paris, and if anyone knows if they still carry this colour in Rue Cambon?

Thanks in advance, cheers

Hmmm, all this while i thought they only come in 2 sizes: medium (around the same size as the classic flap medium) and a slightly larger one

The medium shiva per SA is comparable to the jumbo classic (not as tall & a little wider). The large is really big, I think it is like a maxi and the small is like a m/l.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone find the zipper + flap combo kind of annoying to get in and out of? Do you just leave it unzipped usually or just like the extra security?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Thank for sharing -all good reasons, we must love the bag in everyway.

Regarding the post on the Shiva zipper, that's an interesting question. The benefit I see surfacely ( since I don't own the bag) is that it has that little storage area for a mobile phone underneath the flap - so I could see a security benefit to zipping and having quick access to the phone without other content items falling out or in view?

I love the zipper for the extra security. I stick my cell phone in the pocket, and the zipper doesn't bother me as much. You could always leave it unzipped. I am loving my medium. It is perfect on me.

This is my very first post on PurseForum... I am on here a lot and find this site so helpful, however. I just wanted to add to the discussion by saying that yesterday I visited Neimans in Palo Alto and saw the black Shiva and instantly fell in love! The price tag for the smaller one of $2,900 isn't bad, either.... I have been dreaming to own the classic and am currently on a wait list, but, honestly, I might remove myself, as this bag is everything that I want and more, but for less. :smile1: I love that the small version is still large enough to fit a continental wallet, like the zippy by LV, has a zipper and is very durable. I have 2 kids, and I don't know if I'd ever take my Chanel classic out of my closet if I got it... I'd be too scared that my kids will ruin it or it'll get beat up easy by just being out and about with them. I don't really go to special occasions like I did in the past, so I don't know if I want to spend all that money on a bag that I wouldn't use often. Anyway, I just contacted Bloomingdales at South Coast Plaza and ordered it from them! I wanted to use my Bloomies card :smile1: I can't wait... I am soooo excited! I am leaving for a trip to Italy in 1 week and can't wait to bring it with me. It will look fab with jeans, but also amazing dressed up out to dinner with hubbie. I will post pics as soon as I get it!

Comgrats on getting such a wonderful bag!
Just curious, if you are going to Italy in 1 week, why don't you wait and get the bag there? I am sure the bags are way cheaper in Europe, and you can claim a certain % of VAT...unless you really really want the bag now!

Thank you! I know, I actually considered it, but I am going to visit family (my husband is from there and will also visit my family on my father's side)... because I don't drive in Italy I don't know if I will be able to get to a Chanel boutique unless I ask my husband to take me there. And, I think I would ruin my husband's vacation if he knew I was spending $3,000.00 + on a hand bag  We will be spending most of our time on the beach. :smile1:

I was in Japan a few months ago and did purchase a beautiful Chanel ring and rain boots at the Ginza boutique, and you're right, I did save a bit of money than if I were to have purchased them here.

Saw this in the authentic find thread

Different from the pic I saw

Thought it would be nicer if it's a bit darker

Wow! I LOVE this color... I am waiting on my black Shiva in the smaller size. I desperately want this color, too! I'm looking for a bag that I can dress up with my nude Louboutins. I love the classic, but I'm crazy for this Shiva... it has an edgier feel to it, love the zipper and the size. For me it is perfect. :D

OK...so I am now having second thoughts on this bag. When I received it yesterday, I loved it. I love the beige, the hardware, the style, the zip compartment, plus the inside back pocket. It also has a worry free feel to it. The leather is awesome. But when I showed my sis who loves all my Chanel bags, didn't care for it. She said it looked dirty, too casual, she prefers the beige clair with gold hardware. This morning I'm now doubting the purchase. It's not a classic and cost a lot. I paid $3300 plus tax, nearly $3600! If the bag was near $2000 I would definitely keep it (I wish). But for that price I can save up for a classic, and I know it will always be in style. Help! :0))) What do you girls think?
Thanks for your time!
Here are some pics.

Hmm, looking at your pics I kind of agree with your sister... it is a lot darker than I thought. I prefer the beige clair w/ gold hw, too. Do you or anyone know if they make the Shiva in a lighter beige, but not white?
