Chanel Shiva flap...thoughts?

OK...so I am now having second thoughts on this bag. When I received it yesterday, I loved it. I love the beige, the hardware, the style, the zip compartment, plus the inside back pocket. It also has a worry free feel to it. The leather is awesome. But when I showed my sis who loves all my Chanel bags, didn't care for it. She said it looked dirty, too casual, she prefers the beige clair with gold hardware. This morning I'm now doubting the purchase. It's not a classic and cost a lot. I paid $3300 plus tax, nearly $3600! If the bag was near $2000 I would definitely keep it (I wish). But for that price I can save up for a classic, and I know it will always be in style. Help! :0))) What do you girls think?
Thanks for your time!

Honestly, I like it. Everyone has the classic, and I like to be a little different. You are right. It is expensive, and for another $1500, you can get a jumbo. It is up to you. If you don't feel great about it, then return it.

I'm considering the small in black tried it on today. Sort of has an edgy feel but do you think the bag looks classic Chanel enough? It is slouchier than the reissue which I love but which is too structured for me. I also don't know if this is really just a weekend sort of bag or if it can go a little more busines like. Hmmm.

You know, I was always joking with the girlfriends that I have a Chanel for every occasion except jungle-trekking. This bag of yours looks tough enough for just that. Not that I'm recommending it lol but it has this rugged edge that I like while still retaining some classic features (CC turnlock, quilts, flap, chain strap). But in the end, it's what you want out of it. Good luck deciding!

I just saw both small and slightly larger Shiva's in person and oh my this bag is BEYOND, the slight glazing gives the bag such understated sheen and the hard ware is so light weight, I was expecting the chains to add weight, not so.I see no done side to this style and it is offficially on my wish list - lucky you that it's yours!!!
P.S. I think the glaze will actually give more durability to the bag, I have a untreated lamb ultimate stitch (love), BUT marks up pretty easily and I try to be so careful when I use it - this bag would not be as sensitive to markings .

Borrowed pic below...just wanted general thoughts and opinion..I ordered the biggest flap...15x10 for $3800. I liked that it can be worn cross body, shoulder single strap, double strap. Leather seems so sturdy. Hardware is light.

Any downside to the bag that anyone thinks? Would appreciate insight! Thanks

I love this bag, I think it's sorta of in between interms of the classic version and some of the more casual Chanel bags. The glazing adds such nice upgrade, as well as the added embellished hardware. Also, the glazed leather seems like it would be more durable than some of the unteated lamb leather. This bag is officially on my wish list.
Good luck with your decision!

I returned my Shiva :0(((
I loved it, but had doubts. So I figured it'd be best if I returned. I personally think the black bag is the best looking of all the colors. If I get one down the road, I am definitely going to get the black, the hardware stands out more.

When in doubt, return it. It costs a lot of money to have doubts.

Just curious, what was the deciding factor of your Shiva return? I am seriously considering buying this bag - most likely the small black, although the tannish color is beautiful - just think the black might have more versitilty - even though I already have one black Chanel....

I tried this bag on yesterday in the med and large size and both were nice but I don't like the chain on them. The leather is really nice though but then again... pretty pricey for a seasonal. If it had a different chain, I may have made the plunge.
