Oh please don't burn em. Give em to me ! I paid my dues. I wear vca LOL !!!

Yes the itchy was a turn off. I was planning to wear w an under shirt or as TT pointed out... a body suit LOL

I think the coup de grace was the small dots in the center. They might have gotten away with it without them .... [emoji851]

Exactly! And so I never reach for it. Today I finally said goodbye to a beautiful Akris dress that I have worn exactly once -- itchy.
When I was younger I stupidly would buy something knowing that it would be a problem. I told myself that I could overcome whatever it was. Big mistake. It never goes away and it never gets better.

So true!! I now do a near-blond touch test whenever I am shopping. If it feels even the least bit itchy to me, that's a deal breaker. That's what happened with a sale two-ways Cuba cardigan I tried on.

Agree
I think the Gabrielle logo is the signature feature of Act 1- like Velcro was to the Spring Data Center
And its easy to sit out this pre Fall if one dislikes the logo. I succumbed to a few fun items -
The Logo Ts have sold very very well I'm told - they are silk knit.

Very insightful TT. I hope the logo pieces don't sell so well they start doing it every season! Maybe Chanel should start a second tier line called Gabrielle Coco, like many other brands do.

This is one of the stages where Chanel and VCA could have an interesting legal battle - over whether the mark (in this case the Alhambra) is generic and thus unprotected/free to be used in the public domain. I am unsure if VCA has registered the mark with the US PTO, but if so, there is a presumption against the mark being generic unless and until another party argues the mark has become generic and can prove this. Even if the Alhambra is unregistered, VCA can still have established trademark rights to it under common law by using it in commerce. If Chanel in this case is able to prove that the mark is generic, then they are free to use it. If that is not able to be proven, then VCA will have to prove that there has been trademark infringement by Chanel, which involves a few different factors, most importantly whether there would be likelihood of confusion amongst the public/relevant customer base should Chanel continue to use the Alhambra symbol on their sweater (i.e. Would people see the sweater and think VCA made it because of the Alhambra pattern, whereas the garment actually has a different origin).

In sum, there are lots of different ways this could play out. And there you have your mini crash course in trademarks law [emoji23]
A railing in my 1920's house. Don't tell VCA!
