Does anyone own either of the below jackets? I tried on a size 40 (typically a 36) of the one that has the round neck and it was wayy too big but I love the color and looking for a standard black/white jacket for work. I think this could work but I didn’t like how the jacket looked when unbuttoned because it sort of hangs weirdly and hope it’s just because the size was too big. My SA is going to try to get a 36 for me to try but in the meantime would love to hear from others who have tried or own this jacket about their thoughts. I am also considering the speckled jacket as well - the fitting was great but i’m a bit unsure about the color. Do we think it’s ‘neutral’ enough to wear to work? I wish there were normal buttons and not just one though. Thank you all for your help! I unfortunately can’t afford both. The other option could be waiting for another jacket to come around. Nope. Trust your instinct and wait. You are not going to want to wear a jacket fully buttoned all of the time (like when you sit)

Don’t compromise. Wait. Don’t try to talk yourself into an almost 10K purchase that doesn’t hit all of your preferences.

You will know when the perfect one comes along :)

ETA : IMO only, these are not classic Chanel jacket cuts, and stand a good chance of eventually making it to a Chanel sale down the road. Given this economy, I’d directly ask my SA to show me more classic and more versatile pieces that are unlikely to make it to sale (more likely to stand the test of time). The only reason to buy anything at full price is if you absolutely love something, no hesitation. :)

Thank you so much! I must admit I feel a little bit pressured but you’re right, I am not in a rush and need to be more firm and patient in waiting for the right jacket!

Don’t feel pressure ;) An SA will understand 💯 if you say that you have enough stuff in your closet that you need to wait for the perfect piece :D It’s also fine to say, hey, I’d consider xyz at sale price but not full price.

You should also feel free to tell your SA: for this next purchase, I want 1. A jacket that hangs well open or closed; 2. A jacket that has a row of buttons, not a zip or single button closure; 3. A neutral, versatile color, etc etc. I’d still be open to trying everything on bc you never know, but that’s what I am hoping for.

To be perfectly honest, sorry, I don’t think this one is worth the price There is no there, there. Wait for something with more character to come along.

I really appreciate your honest feedback!! I will keep looking.

I apologize for sounding harsh, but this price point isn’t cheap. I object to Chanel giving us things that are unworthy of the asking price. I think they are in a holding position until the new designer shows his first collection. They are just going through the motions right now.

I tried with both blouse tugged in and with a short blouse (not the best complementing colors for this turquoise shade, just to get a sense of proportion). I think both of these can work as everyday looks

Post pics please!

I agree, but I have short torso and loved the color combo. My husband didn’t like it with these pants also.

Yes, generally I don’t like collars with Chanel jackets, but this blouse is so soft the collar doesn’t show much.

As a die hard neutrals fan myself, I understand gravitating toward mostly a neutral "forever classic" type of wardrobe. However, it really is wonderful to have a few pops of color sprinkled in now and again. It keeps things fresh and lively. Perhaps try pairing it in the summer with some white pants/jeans and in cooler months it might look lovely with earth tones or certain shades of gray. It's kind of nice to break up a monochromatic neutral look now and again. If there is no real need to get rid of the jacket, try incorporating it into your wardrobe over the next few months and see how it feels. If it just doesn't feel like you after a trial period, then you will know with more certainty that you are ready to move on from it. Good luck! I am kind of hoping you fall in love with it! :)
Thank you so much for your thoughts!
