I love this look. If you could wear it a lot, it’d be worth it.Or this one - has anyone seen it?View attachment 5225192

Sometimes I wonder if one could chop it off and use the remaining material to create a matching skirt. Chanel used to do coats that covered matching skirtsThe black and white jacket is beautiful. However, Chanel loves making uber long coats and they dwarf anyone with petite frames. If the coat was knee length I would have called my SA for it. The cape like coat is also quite long with a lot of volume. Again, will look amazing if you are tall.

Is it warm? How much wool is there? Thank youI've worn this jacket on three occasions and both the tweed and sequins remain in excellent condition. I've not worn the jacket under a coat and most likely never will to avoid any fabric friction.
You know what, I think this is a good idea. Though you can probably only create a mini skirt for a knee length coat.Sometimes I wonder if one could chop it off and use the remaining material to create a matching skirt. Chanel used to do coats that covered matching skirts
Talking about recycling materials do people ever make hair accessories / scrunchies with remnants from alterations esp skirt or trouser shortenings. Seems like a good plan if the fabric has logos but is it a thing that’s done? You know what, I think this is a good idea. Though you can probably only create a mini skirt for a knee length coat.

They make nice dress coats, not what I would describe as every day coats, except for the down ones. I don't know about you, but if it's cold enough that I want to wear a long coat all day, I need it to be down so it doesn't suffocate me with heavy weight. I do have a knee length Chanel coat in ivory that is light, but again only for dressy occasions.Jackets are great and timeless but has anyone ventured into Chanel winter coats ? This is from 21k.
I guess it’s climate dependent and only those with a proper winter to wrap up in might invest. Does anyone use Chanel as a daily coat? What are your thoughts on the cut of this one? It’s a loose fit but does it fit the Chanel look of elegance? They are very expensive so I’d guess you’d want to get some decent wear.View attachment 5225171
Do you wear hats? My mother used to tell me that back in the day, when you had a suit made, you took some of the suit fabric and used it to trim the hat. It should be a pretty easy thing to do for a home sewer.I've only kept the material with ideas like this but never made a thing
Woohooo!!! You look so lovely - you’ll find so many ways to wear this. I think the jaquard silk has beautiful movement and flow to it, when worn as a dress. Maybe try wearing it first, without taking it in? Then decide? I ordered the chunky Chanel boots- to have as an option, too.My SA received the 21k grey jeans with the sparkly cc’s so I went to try them even though I had already tried the white version and wasn't too wowed by them. Still didn’t like them enough to buy even though I did like the overall fit. But you guys!!! The black tunic @TankerToad beautifully modeled was there! I had asked an SA at a department store boutique to try to find one for me back when TT posted her pix and he’s been waiting for deliveries but there it was in my own local boutique! It’s a 38 but I like the length so I’ll just have them shorten the sleeves. I’m so happy I found it!
Worn open a la Virginie in the recent spring show.View attachment 5226331
Worn as a tunic, I didn’t wear skinny jeans but I kind of like it with the straight jeans too. It’s a more relaxed kick back vibe.View attachment 5226333
And finally the I forgot my pants look lol. But I’m thinking with either fishnets and slingbacks like @pigleto972001’s SA or the quilted leather combat boots. View attachment 5226340Does it look wide? Or should I have the sides taken in a little??
What a thoughtful gift. Love the boots too. Boots and tights look perfect .My sister bought me the Chanel cc tights for my bday today and I’m so excited about them. I plan to wear them with my combat boots. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.
