Something similar happened to me, too! My SA said she knew I would probably ask for a bag that matched my new clothes and put me on top of the reserve list of a highly desirable white classic flap and...Voila! We just got one in the last shipment and it’s here if you want it! :lol:

I went to the boutique and though my heart initially was on the white jacket, it is very, very light ( almost one layer of material)the detail is beautiful but when I tried on the pink jacket... it was game over.

Here is my new addition- a little pop of pink ❤ Thanks again!

...But how did that work out for H? Bs and Ks are still everywhere in the resale market with prices jacked waaaay up. I really think this is just another way for Chanel to generate buzz and more profits. They are already producing a lot of bags. The coveted bags are neither always made in France nor handmade - Those are things that made Bs and Ks ever so special. What will Chanel do with the production once they shift to this business model? Are they keeping the same handbag production volume (then this ultimately turns into a strategy of using handbags to push RTW sales) or cutting production to focus on quality to compete with Bs and Ks (does that mean they’ll close down workshops in Italy and downsizing their workforce?) Resellers have shown that they have the financial power to buy RTW just to get a coveted bag, so what will happen to Chanel RTW? Do we have to also compete with resellers on Chanel RTW in the future? Very interesting topic!!

RTW being more competitive due to resellers would be the biggest rain cloud on my parade :( I hope it doesn’t come to that.

Will you guys give me your non-Chanel clean white (non see through) tee and tank top recommendations that I can wear with my Chanel rtw? Looking for perfect white tees and tanks and it’s actually pretty hard to find decent pieces that don’t look all beat up, worn out and see through. I know that’s the trend now, but it’s annoying.

I find it’s sometimes hard to get a specific RTW piece in my size. Last summer, when I saw a cute so black mini chevron reissue on TPF, I just walked into a boutique and bought one. Maybe my experience is not typical though? I think H needs more RTW customers bc it’s primarily a leather house. chanel, though is first known for its clothing, second for bags and accessories. Or that’s what I thought.

Resellers are willing to give up more on H RTW bc they get a lot more profits from Bs and Ks. I mean a B25 can get a 50% markup in a consignment store. I don’t really see that with Chanel bags. Maybe a 10 to 20% percent markup for rare finds. Resellers gotta make money somehow so it’s hard to tell how much discounts they would like to give. Not to mention Chanel RTW is also much more popular than H RTW. Resellers could potentially jack up prices on coveted Chanel RTW pieces as well.
