I am going to give you my opinion which I think maybe be unpopular. I think it looks fabulous on you. The way you styled it is really cute. But I think the style would be limiting and it is a very noticeable piece so to me, it's not something you could style a bunch of ways and make it seem really different. It's a showstopper for sure. I saw it in Chicago and it was beautiful. I share the concern about cropped and I don't buy them for that reason. But I don't think it could look any better than it does on you.

ETA: If I were to make a big investment in a cropped piece, it would be this one: (and you would look amazing in it given your figure).

Not unpopular at all. That is exactly my fear, I just fell in love with the intricate material and details. Besides some knitwear and dresses I haven’t been excited for a Chanel jacket for some time. I know it will look absolutely fabulous when styled the right way (I am sure @ari will make it look spectacular, as usual), I am just not sure I can make it work for my lifestyle. And indeed, it’s a special piece one cannot throw on but rather utilize it for special occasions (of which I have none). I will take a look at my closet again tonight after work and see if there is anything in there that could match the jacket. I recently bought a light cardigan which I am able to wear for video calls from home, so might inquire about the one you have shown. I discussed it with my SA last week and I remember he mentioned it was sold out in Munich, but I am sure he could transfer it in.

I hope you can find it. I did ask about it in the US and they didn't order my size (which is huge compared to yours). Oh well. Saved me a bunch of money. :)

I will purposely refrain from asking for the price. I think it was mentioned here, but I’d like to surprise myself  What a shame they did not order it. Is there an option to have your boutique get it from Paris?

A couple of pieces I looked at the other day.
The cardi in navy medium length and the bow blazer which I absolutely adore but find a tad bit too long in proportion.
Oh the 21P shirt finally came with me to go with the matching pants but not only.
and that lilac shirt was so up my alley but the price point was way too high and also the tag said 20C? Anyone got any more info on that piece please?

The bow jacket is very pretty and looks like a feminized riding jacket to me.

Hi! First, beautiful jacket  Regarding the alterations, are you referring to the fit or the way the fabric from the sleeves meets the shoulder? I agree the latter looks a bit off. However, regarding the fit, how does it look buttoned? It’s a little hard to see the fit based on this angle.
IMO if you aren’t completely satisfied, I would take it back and have a conversation with the seamstress regarding the alterations. I did the same thing and was able to get great feedback from both the seamstress and SA!
Thank you!! I now realize I should have posted better pics to illustrate my issues with how loose the jacket was. I ended up going back to the boutique to get alterations again— the woman knew what I wanted right away and I’ll post pics of the results in two weeks! My SA was on vacation this week and I had help from someone new. They showed me one of my wishlist items and I was curious to know if any of you have purchased boutique items from two different SA’s.

HELP! Should I wait for my new SA to return tomorrow, or should I make the purchase with the person who helped me yesterday? I don’t want to ruin my relationship with my SA who’s been helping me since 2016

Pics below of blazer I’m getting and two cardigans I tried on in 34 and 36. For over 3k, I can’t really justify getting such a thin cardigan

I would appreciate opinions on this cropped jacket I fell in love with a few days ago. I avoided trying it on but gave in today. Of course I fell in love but after getting rid of most of my Chanel RTW I promised myself to limit future purchases to practical pieces that I would be able to use often. The jacket is surprisingly comfortable and not too thick, it doesn’t limit my movements which has been an issue for me in the past. It is delicate, though. I follow the thread but don’t recall anyone purchasing it. So to all the ladies who purchased or considered this jacket, how hard do you find to style it? I am aware that cropped jackets are limiting and I am not keen on the look with jeans and t-shirt as proportions look off but didn’t have time to try it with other pieces from the store. Any opinions and suggestions are welcome.

I did purchase the pink 21C cardigan/dress which still is short on me but manageable. However, I am a tad bit shorter than @pigleto972001.
It is going to Italy to have the sleeves altered.

You look very pretty! I would find the jacket too cropped for my taste, personally. It sounds like you are in love with the fabric and how it wears, though.

I love it on you. Couldn’t it also be worn with a plain dress or high waisted pants? Or ask your SA if you could size up for length and then tailor down for fit?
@911snowball said it better below! Hugs

@Tina_Bina, I think the jacket looks cute on you, almost like an outerwear fit? And, I adore the pics of your dog Who looks exceedingly content and happy to be shopping!

pinkorchid, that cardigan is really lovely. I wished I had seen it as I would have loved to try this on. I am particularly taken with the pearl details and the beautiful weave of the fabric shown in your close up shot. Also, I zoomed in and I love the buttons!
I tend to avoid ultra cropped styles as I don't know how to wear them with confidence- but I am also the queen of alterations so I would most likely go up one size to get an extra half inch or so of length and alter in the piece to fit me. It is really nice. We have been commenting here on this thread about the level of detail in recent pieces. I think this one is an excellent example of something done really well, it appears that the material is an open therefore somewhat stretchy and comfortable fabric. I understand the back and forth you must be going through in your mind! Keep us posted.

Thank you! The pants are already pretty high waisted and there still is a 5-6cm gap in between. It fit so well that I didn’t consider sizing up. It’s the last jacket in my boutique but inquire what’s possible tomorrow. I trust our seamstress and she’s magically transformed pieces 4 sizes too large. Thanks for reminding me of this option!

Thank you for your suggestion and sorry, I should have multiquoted but red your reply after answering to @880. I will absolutely ask about potential sizes available in Europe. The jacket sold surprisingly well over here (I would have assumed people would gravitate towards more casual and easier pieces at this point). When my SA noted it was an expensive liebe and reminded me to take my time I actually corrected him. Yes, it is expensive. However, in contrast to other, much simpler jackets in the same price range that were launched recently, I don’t think it is overly expensive. I actually thought it was priced higher as I hadn’t paid attention. The details speak for themselves and the fabric is comfortable. Will definitely post an update once I have discussed with my SA and our seamstress.

ari, thank you so much for the suggestions for the navy pants! When I visited my store last time, I wore my airline cardigan with the joggers. I left the cardigan with my SA and asked her to find some accessories for me to give it some interest and this is what she picked for me. I think this sweater looks fab with a camellia , you are always so right on with Airline cardigan accessories.JPGaccessories!
