Hi there, I bought it in the Chanel boutique in Berlin. It was in the 227 size and the last one though, no more other sizes at all. I wanted a 226 as well but apparently this is sold out according to the SAs. Supposedly there was one left in Paris? I was not really eager to order this though, as they wouldn't hold the 227 for me in the meantime and I wasn't sure if the 226 would be okay. I had seen other versions that were Made in Italy, as this is, and they were all really uneven / wonky. Mostly because the turnlocks were inserted at an angle compared to the bottom as opposed to straight. So I thought it would be better to go with this one which was in good shape.

I only saw one normal calf with the thinner chevron (pink interior lining) but I opted for the small boy in caviar with gold hw instead. Hoping they will produce the chevron 226 in aged calfskin again!!

I am also pretty concerned about the quality of Chanel, with that price tag they should have done something with their quality control...recently we need to examine the bag carefully before we purchase them just to make sure they are not defect, how weird is that when you are paying so much money!

May I ask what your thoughts were on the thin chevron with pink lining? I saw one IRL and it was quite beautiful.

I actually liked it as well, it was navy calf with pink lining and gold hardware and it was absolutely stunning too. However, I still prefer the classic black aged calf with chevron or quilt in gold hardware so I passed it and got the small boy instead. Also because I think the aged calf should be more durable than normal calfskin, though it feels quite sturdy as well.

If the reissues were not that expensive I would probably have gone for it, but given the price tag and the lower resale value I chose caviar boy in the end.

I just received this beauty - 226 so black chevron 17P. The sheepskin doesn't feel as delicate as lambskin and like the smoother appearance vs. wrinkled. But having second thoughts to exchange for the classic reissue black aged calfskin with ruthenium hw in 225 size. Not sure if the chevron will look dated and will stand the test of time....any opinions on this bag would be greatly appreciated!

I'm glad you posted this because I'm going back and forth on this bag as well. I have a black 226 and a dark blue 227 (both quilted aged calf with ruthenium HW) and have been thinking of adding another Reissue for some time now. I saw this at the boutique in both the 225 and 226 sizes and it is stunning. I'm just not sure I should get another black 226. I'm interested to hear what others will say. I love it but it is a very specific, edgy look and personally, I'm not sure I would wear the bag enough to justify the price. I would also worry about the hardware chipping, but I'm not sure if that's justified! It may be very durable.

I do prefer the 226 to the 225. For the price, I want to get as much use out of the bag as possible, and the fact that the 226 fits just a bit more (most notably, sunglasses), makes it much more versatile for me. Also, I'm 5'6 so I feel like the 226 fits my frame a little better. But if it was just going to be a bag for cocktail parties and fancy dinners, I would consider the 225.

I do love the distressed leather! I find that again, it makes the bag so versatile. My black 226 can go from cocktail party attire to jeans and a leather jacket. The leather is also really durable so I don't feel like I have to constantly worry about it or baby it when I'm wearing it. My blue 227 got rained on the very first time I wore it and you'd never know!

Here's a pic of the black chevron 226 w/ black hardware in natural light. Leather seems more matte but does contrast a little with shiny black hardware. Not sure I like how matte it looks outside, but still pretty!
