Thank you everyone for your kind comments:amuse: I'm glad I got the 225 size! I don't carry much with me and I prefer a more casual style for larger bags anyway.

I'm not sure if my bag is considered metallic..I know that this one is darker and slightly shinier than the regular versions with RHW/GHW. It should be the same leather as the bag in the pictures posted before mine!

sorry accidentally clicked replied on this and couldn't delete it. but yea, loving your reissue and also thinking if i shd get a 225 or 226.. im only 157cm tall.. and probably shrinking to 156cm soon.. hai.

Eek!!! I LOVE this thread! I am desperately searching for a 224 in any color other than black (read: gray, metallic gold or silver, navy?!) but my local Chanel boutiques don't have (and one SA hadn't ever heard of) the "mini" sized reissue. Does anyone know of somewhere in the US that has this? Thank you!

Saks in BH has a few  Also try Berdorfs. That's where I got mine and they have others as well, not in black!

I would choose not by YOUR size by by the amount you need to carry, since that is what makes 225 and 226 most different from each other.

IMO 225 is a more elegant size and is cuter crossbody, but for me it wasn't practical as a day bag, which is what I was looking for. So I went with 226, which many owners on this forum have said is the perfect size capacity-wise, and I agree. Although not as good looking x body, I like that is has a larger presence and I have my WOC for going out/special occasion.

Good luck!

thanks for the advice! i haven't been to the store to see the actual bags in question (worried i won't be able to resist the temptation if i saw a combination i like!!) lol. will probably make a trip down to the store to see the actual sizing and compare.

Hello,

Another reissue lover here. Just got my 1st one. A beautiful 225 size in black with RHW from 2008.:heart::heart:

I have however taken her out for the first time today and noticed what I think is a flaw and was wondering if any of you fellow reissue owners has experienced anything similar or if I have bought a flawed bag. :confused1:
It's the bottom seam where the front leather is stitched to the bottom piece that I find a bit uneven. Inserted pics to show. Is this a natural part of the design that would occur with other reissues? Since it's preloved I guess wear also will have some effect on the bag but I found it to look almost unworn.

Some comforting words please :p I have no Chanel store in my city so cannot compare with a new one and I paid a lot more than I'd like to think about.. ;)

Merry Christmas to you all!

Kathydep I'm so embarrassed I didn't see your post here! This was in a Southern California store (San Diego Nordies, I believe). I didn't keep it as I am now on the fence between a classic mini flap and a 225 (or 226...ack, decisions!) Enjoy your bag it is so unique and stunning, a real head turner!
Classic mini is like half the price of 225 lol! I def use classic mini more than my 224; love the double flap but the classic mini (non double flap) fits more and easier

When I compared both in store, the capacity looked similar.

I know right, the 224 is gorgeous -- I love the look especially of the gold chain and I am looking for a mini bag. But for the price difference between both the 224 and classic mini, and between the 224 and 225, the price of the 224 just isn't justified  It would make more sense to purchase either a classic mini or a 225.
Definitely agree! I do have 224 and a mini and I use the mini more often! Want to get 225 next (sold my classic medium bc I can't use it cross body)

Hi, I'm looking for a 225 (distressed calfskin, quilted pattern, ruthenium hardware) and it seems super hard to fine in the US. The Chanel SA told me that US stores don't buys the 225 regularly. If the US stores do carry reissue it's usually the 226 in gold hardware. Does anyone know if this is true? Is anyone aware of where I would find a 225 here in the US?
I have also tried the pre-loved market and I also see many more 226 than 225's.
Thanks in advance!

The bag does exist as I own one. I got mine two years ago and I had a very difficult time finding one. Yes, 226 is much easier to find and 225 with gold is easier to find but it does exist. I can tell you that NM does not carry the 225 with rhw as a SA even asked if she could order it for me and was told no. I finally found my bag with the help of a fellow TPF member who put me in touch with her SA who searched high and low to locate the bag for me, I can tell you that my bag came from Saks in NYC. I don't know if that particular size and hardware is seasonal. Keep an eye out on the threads for the new seasons as they usually have the buy lists for most of the department stores. I think I read that Hirscleifer in New York was getting that bag. If you do a search you should be able to find SA info for them. I've never purchased from them but I've heard good things. Upside is no sales tax if your are outside of NY, downside is returns are store credit only. Good luck in your search.
