Hi, would like some advice from the experts here. When did they stop producing the mini 244 reissues with the double flap and when did they start with the single flap? Someone is selling it at a reasonable price and she says she bought it from a reseller but she has misplaced the card although the sticker is still intact. So I wanted to see if the serial number corresponds to the year double flaps are still being made.

Did you find that the mink oil gave your bag a bit of a shine? Interested, as I've never used it. :)
Yes it does. I apply it with my finger tips to the bag, wait a few minutes and then put a cotton sock over my hand and buff it. You have to buff it to bring out the shine. I love this product because there is no build up or residue. The leather absorbs the product well.

Thank you! I want a product that adds a little shine. Haven't found it so far, even with other products recommended here.

Does it make the leather softer? Or if you only spot treat, is it visible some spots were treated and not others?
I’ve seen some aged calf reissues that look kinda dry (especially the sides where the crease/folds in) and always wondered if I should take a chance and buy and fix it. I have the green bottle cadillac leather lotion but have not used in any bags.

The leather on my bag was pretty dry and matte in appearance when I received it. The Saphir Renovateur had a moisturizing effect without leaving any residue. I don’t think there was much of a change in texture, but I don’t remember how soft it was before. It does have a strong scent which dissipates after a couple of days. I didn’t mind the scent, only that it was initially strong.

I don’t think there would be visible spots if you treated only one area of the bag, but the area that is treated would look more “hydrated.” The difference would likely be similar to applying your face cream to only one side of your face.

I have the Cadillac lotion also but have not used any other product on my Chanels since I‘ve come across Saphir. There is nothing like it! I have used the product twice on my bag and am going to continue to use it every now and then. I wouldn’t use it on a metallic reissue but on any other aged calfskin bag I wouldn’t hesitate!

Question: Will the iPhone 11 or 12 Pro Max fit in the Mini Reissue? I have a 226, which I adore, but I'd like something a bit smaller for evening. I know the phone should fit according to the measurements listed on the Chanel website, but the folded sides sometimes limit contents to something smaller. I'd hate to go to the trouble and expense of tracking one down pre-loved and then still have to have my husband carry my phone, lol.

ETA: I've used the Saphir Renovateur as well, it is more moisturizing than the Cadillac, and leaves a slight gloss if you buff it. I'm addicted to the scent, it has a bit of musk, I guess from the mink.

I recently bought the Cadillac lotion but now I think I should get the Saphir Renovateur! Wondering if it makes the leather soft? I'm worried it'll soften the leather and eventually case the bag to sag..

I think if you are careful while you are massaging it into the bag it should be okay. I think it's the rubbing and manipulating the leather (and whatever the understructure of the bag is made out of) that could make it soften too much.

Can someone please tell me how comfortable the reissue chain strap is in comparison to the classic leather/chain straps? I do not have a boutique near me to try any on. Apologies if this has already been discussed.
