Ok good to know. Thank you for your feedback! What series is the 226 you purchased?
I recently ordered a 226 from Fashionphile and it was a 225. I returned it and they raised the price $900 and re listed it as a 225.I was so excited to receive this 226 from Fashionphile. Then it turned out she is 227! Sending her back![]()
225 typically sells for more in the resale market currently vs. the other sizes (226, 227). Mini Reissue and 225 are the 2 most popular sizes right now.I recently ordered a 226 from Fashionphile and it was a 225. I returned it and they raised the price $900 and re listed it as a 225.
Wow, you would think they'd own up to their mistake and re-list it as a 226, since it's actually a 226! Sounds like they're being tricky and trying to get rid of the 226, hoping a buyer would be unaware of the size difference or accept as-is.I recently ordered a 226 from Fashionphile and it was a 225. According to my SA, the US doesn’t get many small reissues (225). I find this strange since it’s closest in size to the med classic flap. She told me this before the mini reissues were released so maybe things have changed since, especially since smaller bags have become more popular and are more affordable.Wow, you would think they'd own up to their mistake and re-list it as a 226, since it's actually a 226! What's weird is a brand new 226 is of course more expensive, and if I was actually looking for a 226, I would have expected it to be more $$ than a 225 (depending on condition of bag)..
Not sure why I replied to your comment specifically. I meant to say that now that the smaller sized reissues are in higher demand, assuming that boutiques in the US don’t carry the 225 size, demand may drive up the price for the 225 in resale market. Just like mini caviar classic flaps.Wow, you would think they'd own up to their mistake and re-list it as a 226, since it's actually a 226! No problem! Makes sense prices on resell market is driven by demand. Not sure why I replied to your comment specifically. Yes, I agree! Chanel even calls the 225 size “small.” The bright side is that deals can still be found for the small reissue on the second hand market...Not so much for the medium or small classic flaps! I just bought a small navy reissue with ruthenium hardware from the RealReal. I paid $4536 which is a little less than what I paid for my new small reissue in 2019. Condition was listed as good but I used the sunshine cloth to restore the dull tarnished chains and saphir Renovateur mink oil to condition the leather and now it’s as good as new!No problem! I prefer the 225 size because it's slightly smaller than a medium CF + more comfortable chain length.
What REALLY bugs me is that the 225 is priced the same as a medium CF.... I understand the sizes are comparable (within + or - 0.5 or 1 cm, in length/width/height) but I feel like it's closer to a small CF instead. Just venting cuz of course, Chanel would want to charge us the more expense med CF price instead of the small CF price.
Did you find that the mink oil gave your bag a bit of a shine? Interested, as I've never used it.Yes, I agree!
