Plum reissue 224 from 2012! The hardware is a dark silver, which I don’t see often. This one is extra special to me, it was one of the first Chanel bags I really wanted (but I had just graduated university and started working, so couldn’t justify buying). Found on FP in excellent condition.

Love hearing about ”meant to be” stories. Congrats! She’s beautiful!

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to buy my first reissue 226 in black with RHW next year for my 30th birthday - excited to join the club! Is this combination usually available at any time of year or will I need to look around for one? My local stores are in London and I'm also (hopefully!) going to NYC for my birthday. TIA!

To be honest, I've never decided myself on a reissue. I am more for timeless, which I have in several colors, but as far as I have been reading this thread, I am changing my mind. Perhaps it will be my next purchase, but only one question, after wearing it for a while, does it look as a "very used bag"? Thanks, ladies.

I have three reissues that are all several years old, and all of them look pretty much the way they did when I got them. The leather is “aged calfskin” but in my experience, it doesn‘t really age any further unless you are very hard on the bag. My bags have all been out in the rain and look no worse for wear. HTH.

Thank you very much for your advice, my friend. Nothing better than other's experience to make a good choice. Now for the color. I am thinking about ivory with golden hdw.:flowers:

Glad to be of help. I will say that my reissues are all dark colors, so I really can‘t speak to how a color like ivory will hold up. Hopefully someone else can chime in about that!

Sorry in advance if this was already discussed...

Could anyone tell me where the size name for 2.55s come from (224, 225, 226, and 227 series). Chanel boutiques usually do not go by these names for sizes rather they say mini, medium, large, and maxi... but many personal shoppers always use the numbers...

I am really curious to know how it is started!!

Hello there! . 2,55 means February 1955, when the bag was launched. BYE!
