I went to Paris this past weekend

Cues were huge in every boutique

Once you make an appointment you will receive a confirmation sms + email, and closer to your appointment day the same thing.

Even with an appointment I ended up waiting for one hour

I asked them to put my bag inside the black shopping bag with no logos (this is basically a canvas black simple shopping bag). Felt safer to walk on the streets like this and not showing off the white logo bag and getting attention from pick pockets. So if you also prefer to have your shopping bag inside the black one you have to ask for it, otherwise you won´t get it.

Good god, and here I am thinking that during covid it would be an ideal time to shop in Paris with a lot less tourists lol. Are things back to normal there with the usual crowd of tourists? Or are the lines because they restrict the number of people inside because of covid (less than 10 pple)?

I haven't been since Covid started, but pre-covid I was in Paris at least once a month for work and it was always a zoo to get into any Chanel boutique, especially spring/summer months but even so, I never stood on line for more than 15 mins. And you're telling me you still waited an hour even with an appt. UGH.

FYI, Chanel in France has always had a special complimentary service (completely free) of delivering your handbags to your hotel. I've always used it, whether I bought one handbag or multiple items. As you said, no one really wants to prance around the streets with Chanel shopping bags especially if you have other places to go throughout the day. I hope they haven't gotten rid of this service because of covid!

Things are back to normal, Paris was crowded as pre pandemic and they lift most of the restrictions that have an impact on tourists (e.g. masks indoors are not mandatory, only in public transport, and no limit of people inside places). So both Chanel boutiques in Rue Cambon were crowded and they still deliver the bags in the hotel if you ask to.

Do they now enforce a purchase limit? I haven’t been since Covid so I’m wondering if it’s changed. Is it now 1 handbag 1 slg like elsewhere?

Hello, do you know if i can exchange a flap bag that I bought in Paris last week for a same bag but in different leather in Berlin? I bought a lamb skin version on holiday and I want to exchange for caviar one. I got a Berlin SA number but they replied that it is not possible because I didn’t buy it in Germany. What should I do?

As far as someone I know did, they exchanged a faulty bag in another country but had to pay the difference. I suppose if it's not faulty they don't have to take it?

No minis available at any store in Paris. I visited them all including the CDG boutique. I was in Paris during Easter weekend and the city was FULL of tourists and pretty much every designer store had lines outside except Chanel. I was able to walk into every store without appointment and was helped within 5 minutes. I was surprised by that. Maybe my timing was just lucky?

I was there last week too! Did you end up getting anything? I found the stock to be extremely disappointing… maybe everyone caught wind that there wasn’t much left in store. I did end up waiting outside the Royale store for 40 mins, and looked at the CF caviar GHW in small and medium. Didn’t go home with either though.

I was on a mission for the mini only so I was out of the store once I was told there weren’t any minis in stock. That’s too bad that stock wasn’t great! I expected I would not be able to find a mini but I thought I would check anyway just in case.

I have an SA in Paris at Le Bon Marché who has a pair of shoes I want, but she says she cannot send me a payment link as I am outside of France. She also says she cannot take phone orders. Is anyone familiar with this and has a suggestion on how to solve this?
I go to Paris next month anyway, but I am afraid that the pair might be sold out by then as it is from 22P already.

Depending on how desperately you want the shoes, you’d really only have 2 options. Find a personal shopper in Paris to pick them up for you (pay the fee for her service (10% or a flat fee) and have her hold on to them for you until you arrive (or ship them although it would incur shipping fees). The other is really trying to find someone you know through work, family, friend in Paris to go and purchase it for you (on their CC).

So my experience was similar to everyone’s last week, walked into four different boutiques in Paris, no minis anywhere, or that was the automatic response from all SA’s. Interestingly enough however, at the original Rue Cambon boutique, as I was speaking to the SA and as he was telling me they had zero available, I looked past him Towards a display case behind and sure enough there was one rectangular sitting there on display. I said “isn’t that a mini?”. He seemed a bit surprised and said yes, so I asked if I could try it on. I ended up taking it, not necessarily a color I was looking for. I think I was swayed by the scarcity. In any case, there must be a few floating around out there.

Thanks for the advice! Think I'll opt for the latter option :)
You think when I visit the Chanel store next month and leave my cc details so they can keep it on file, I can buy from distance in the future?

Wonder why they say they haven't got any when they have. So rude!

What colour mini did you end up getting?
