I went to Paris this past weekend
Cues were huge in every boutique
Once you make an appointment you will receive a confirmation sms + email, and closer to your appointment day the same thing.
Even with an appointment I ended up waiting for one hour
I asked them to put my bag inside the black shopping bag with no logos (this is basically a canvas black simple shopping bag). Felt safer to walk on the streets like this and not showing off the white logo bag and getting attention from pick pockets. So if you also prefer to have your shopping bag inside the black one you have to ask for it, otherwise you won´t get it.
Good god, and here I am thinking that during covid it would be an ideal time to shop in Paris with a lot less tourists lol. Are things back to normal there with the usual crowd of tourists? Or are the lines because they restrict the number of people inside because of covid (less than 10 pple)?
I haven't been since Covid started, but pre-covid I was in Paris at least once a month for work and it was always a zoo to get into any Chanel boutique, especially spring/summer months but even so, I never stood on line for more than 15 mins. And you're telling me you still waited an hour even with an appt. UGH.
FYI, Chanel in France has always had a special complimentary service (completely free) of delivering your handbags to your hotel. I've always used it, whether I bought one handbag or multiple items. As you said, no one really wants to prance around the streets with Chanel shopping bags especially if you have other places to go throughout the day. I hope they haven't gotten rid of this service because of covid!
