Your welcome. But for fall/winter 2017 who knows. So get going!

Yes Chanel changed their pricing to be more equal around the world. US is still priciest, but not as slanted as it used to be. The first half of 2017 will stay the same in US but no guarantee's after that. LV is the most slanted.....You can get their bags in Europe so much cheaper it's unreal. That's why I have a hard time buying LV anymore in the US. It's not fair and balanced.:annoyed:
Yes I agree with you that LV is.... But even if Europe is cheaper on European designer brands, it is not cheap at all and to me its way more expensive for travel ( airplane ticket and hotel, foods ) So Asia for travel from USA! and if i buy oversea I cannot return or exchange easily if there is quality issues on them or did not work on me....I think it is the best for me to buy in USA.

Today I spoke to my SA, she said Chanel stopped sending lots of classics to the boutiques here in Europe and that is usually a sign for a future price increase. But that's just a guess, so nothing concrete.

a SA in munich told me there will be an increase here in europe. she adviced me to get the jumbo before february 18th (my birthday)

Yikesss! But I'm not surprised...they can charge the sky n stocks will still roll out . Just reminiscing the times it was only $1500, 10 years ago? :amuse:. Then $3250 8 years ago? I don't know anymore haha. Chanel's bargaining power is up high above us.

Oh no this is bad timing for me. I've been looking for a caviar mini and two different SAs have now told me that they are out of stock in the entire country and I have to wait till March at the earliest. So that'll be after the price increase by the looks of things.

Seems like Chanel is trying to eventually bring their price close to Hermes.
Some of Chanel's flaps are not far off already. Surely they won't want to pitch the Chanel flap at the same level as the Birkin or the Kelly? If they did, wouldn't people decide it wasn't worth it at that price and just buy the B or K instead?
Clearly I'm hoping Chanel isn't trying to match Hermes' prices, because that would price me out completely.

I think Chanel's recent price increases in Europe have less to do with long term strategy and more to do with trying to keep parity across geographies due to currency rate changes. The euro usd rate used to be 1.35-1.40 a couple years ago to almost equal now. The gbp usd rate was 1.55 early last year and is now 1.22 ish. This makes everything in the US and some other countries way over priced. That is why the US hasn't seen an increase in quite a while and prob will not until the dollar loses strength.

The point of the article is a heads up to a possible price increase this year due to currency fluctuations. Much of what's stated in this thread is speculation. This is just my opinion. If you don't like it, you can just ignore it.
