I stopped by Chanel at NM today to get on a wait list for a Boy WOC from 2017 Spring collection (coming in Jan or Feb) and the SA told me the price is going to be $2525. Not sure if it is a price increase or a special edition.

In the USA? If you check other threads like 2017 collection, the prices are already out. There was no increase in bags at least.

I am aware that prices are out for 2017 but that doesn't mean that they can't be increased. In other words, those are 2017 collection prices at this moment, there's nothing in writing that I'm aware of that guarantees those prices until next year.

Many of the 2017 Spring/Summer handbags in the US are currently being purchased on a pre-order basis while other retailers have "over-filled" waitlists for some select handbags. The prices listed on the Act 1 and Act 2 threads are consistent, hence they are "guaranteed".

Chanel has raised has raised prices in the past. I assume that if you had a pre order they would honor the old price. People on wait lists are likely SOL if there is a prince increase. And I wouldn't rely on threads here in a nonofficial Chanel forum as the basis for believing there won't be an increase. Let's hope though for everyones pocket books there isn't.

I doubt the US will increase since Europe is still much cheaper with the current exchange rates. After vat refund the discrepancy is even bigger.
