Respectfully, I disagree that, "People on wait lists are likely SOL if there is a prince increase". Bottomline, and from the perspective of a US buyer, once the Buy-Books are released for an upcoming Chanel season, there simply will be NO changes made to the prices enclosed.
The Buy-Books for the US 2017 Spring/Summer season were released weeks/months ago. Some Chanel retailers, however, are slower to receive them than others.
Without question, I am confident that I will NOT be "SOL". I never rely on what I read, see, or hear on the internet, especially when it relates to financial data. I rely on facts, facts that have been provided by reliable and valid resources.
I am prepared to purchase the handbag(s) I am interested in for the price(s) I have been quoted because I rely on information provided to me directly by Sales Associates who I have developed long-standing and loyal relationships.
It just so happens that the prices I have personally been quoted are identical to those provided by our [emoji92]beloved fellow TPF member "lallybelle"[emoji92].
Perhaps your experience with price increases has transpired outside the US? [The US has not experienced any considerable, across-the-board price increases since 2014, if I am not mistaken].
The reason behind the frequent non-US price increases can tentatively be explained by following the volatility of macroeconomics and the equalization of foreign currencies. [You are welcome to take me to task on this topic. I have completed vast coursework in both domestic and international (micro/macro) economics at the graduate level. And I have personally researched the data behind the price increases Chanel has imposed over the last 5 years consecutively.]
It is unfortunate that your experience appears to be different than mine. This must be incredibly frustrating; I know I would deeply question the reliability of Chanel pricing if I lived in a country that experienced such pricing instability. I wish more honesty and transparency for you and Chanel pricing in the near future.
