Eh if I had a dollar for every rumor or so and so's SA said... I'd have enough money to have purchased another Chanel by now.
I agree lallybelle...I was in London over the summer and heard so many people say that LV sales staff in Selfridges was telling customers to buy that day as the prices were going up the next day. the prices never changed for the several days I was there. Either the sales staff doesn't know or they are simply trying to create a frenzy esp among tourists.

Chanel has raised has raised prices in the past. I assume that if you had a pre order they would honor the old price. People on wait lists are likely SOL if there is a prince increase. And I wouldn't rely on threads here in a nonofficial Chanel forum as the basis for believing there won't be an increase. Let's hope though for everyones pocket books there isn't.

Respectfully, I disagree that, "People on wait lists are likely SOL if there is a prince increase". Bottomline, and from the perspective of a US buyer, once the Buy-Books are released for an upcoming Chanel season, there simply will be NO changes made to the prices enclosed.

The Buy-Books for the US 2017 Spring/Summer season were released weeks/months ago. Some Chanel retailers, however, are slower to receive them than others.

Without question, I am confident that I will NOT be "SOL". I never rely on what I read, see, or hear on the internet, especially when it relates to financial data. I rely on facts, facts that have been provided by reliable and valid resources.

I am prepared to purchase the handbag(s) I am interested in for the price(s) I have been quoted because I rely on information provided to me directly by Sales Associates who I have developed long-standing and loyal relationships.

It just so happens that the prices I have personally been quoted are identical to those provided by our ✨beloved fellow TPF member "lallybelle"✨.

Perhaps your experience with price increases has transpired outside the US? [The US has not experienced any considerable, across-the-board price increases since 2014, if I am not mistaken].

The reason behind the frequent non-US price increases can tentatively be explained by following the volatility of macroeconomics and the equalization of foreign currencies. [You are welcome to take me to task on this topic. I have completed vast coursework in both domestic and international (micro/macro) economics at the graduate level. And I have personally researched the data behind the price increases Chanel has imposed over the last 5 years consecutively.]

It is unfortunate that your experience appears to be different than mine. This must be incredibly frustrating; I know I would deeply question the reliability of Chanel pricing if I lived in a country that experienced such pricing instability. I wish more honesty and transparency for you and Chanel pricing in the near future. :flowers:

Lol thanks for touting your resume. It's great you've done lots of research. Do you actually work at Chanel? I work in finance and I am in the US and as I recall when there were prices increases in the US in the past, people were SOL when on wait lists. Perhaps it had to do with timing? I agree that due to fluctuations and uncertainties in currencies and the strong dollar it's likely that Chanel will not raise prices in the US. However, I would not brush off what SAs say about increases completely. Last year, my lv SA gave me a head's up about increases on several lv items. He said LV is no longer doing across the board increases but raising prices selectively on popular items according. Just a few days later I saw the metis price go up. I am aware there has been no increase on Chanel for a couple years and so lol there has been no frustration here. I feel terrible for those in Britain and especially Canada. Thanks for sharing your wealth of experience.

Your sarcasm is wasted on me. Continue to fester in your own negativity. This conversation is over as far as I am concerned. I, too, have intel on LV over the last few years. But, no doubt, you would criticize "that" as well. The fact that you are using LV as a comparison only "supports" my statements from the start.
✨Cheers!✨

My SA in London went to a meeting in Paris last month and advised that there will be a steep increase in the UK this year. She told me to "save hard" for the RTW items I want from Paris Cosmopolite. Thank goodness it is six months before the collection arrives in the boutiques!

Oh no that's really disappointing if it happens, as we already had 3 increases last year and they were not small increases either. Unless she meant the increases are only for the RTW items?

Oh no, I so badly wanted to buy a M/L classic black bag this year..if the price increase is in April then I can still manage but otherwise if it's before that, then no luck. Fingers crossed hope there's no price increase in UK for another couple of months.

Hello,
My apologies if this question has already been asked but I could not find a similar thread. Does anyone know when/if Chanel will have a price increase this year? When was the increase last year? I am finally planning to invest in a Jumbo caviar bag (when they get it in stock) and I am concerned that I may be impacted by the increase. Thanks in advance.

There was no price increase last year, or the year before that I believe. And it is not increasing either for Spring/Summer 2017.

Are you in the US? If so then yes, the price has remained e same for e last 2 years or so. But other parts of the world had price adjustments last year (Asia got cheaper, Europe got pricier).

I'm not sure when the next price increase will be... But one thing I've realized is US prices are still higher than Asia n of course europe. Especially with the added taxes.

Eg: Medium Chanel Classic

USA: $4,900 + tax 9% = $5340
Japan: 505,000 Yen (tourist tax free) = USD$4,400~

So snag one when you're travelling abroad (if you're from USA) hehe.
Well Chanel is possibly the most covetted brand, even at the current prices everyone is still buy buy buy! I wouldn't hesitate too long if you're getting the all time classic caviar in black and gold/silver. The style wont change, but the price will

Really?!?! You just made my day!! Thank you
Your welcome. But for fall/winter 2017 who knows. So get going!

Yes Chanel changed their pricing to be more equal around the world. US is still priciest, but not as slanted as it used to be. The first half of 2017 will stay the same in US but no guarantee's after that. LV is the most slanted.....You can get their bags in Europe so much cheaper it's unreal. That's why I have a hard time buying LV anymore in the US. It's not fair and balanced.:annoyed:
