Hi there I watch evainthecity on YouTube who just bought a reissue and she said that she had heard from a good source uk prices are going up very soon to bring in line with USA etc she was not planning to purchase until August but bought forward her purchase so sounds like it is true

I bought a new Jumbo (series 23xxxx) in June from India for 3,77,000 INR, approx 5617 USD, or 5100 euros. This price was higher than the Price a month ago of 3,53,000 or 5260 USD or 4750 Euros.

Considering the prices went down in Asia for global harmonization I thought this was rather strange....Unless of course there is a price increase in Europe as well, soon!! Good to note that when the price in India was brought down it matched exactly the price of the bag in Europe before tax return (euro 4750) ( for the exchange rate around that time...)

Considering this I think maybe the Jumbo in Europe may go up to 5100 or 5200 Euros...If the rumor of the price increase is true!!!

Any thoughts? How about Hongkong and Singapore... have the prices gone up since the decrease we experienced last year?

Yes prices in Singapore and Indonesia have increased several months back, ever since the price decrease last year.

Your analysis is great!!!! I also don't think US prices will increase if Chanel is to keep price harmonized


If Chanel is truly committed, USD and CHF have been so strong that there's no reasons for any price increase. It doesn't matter when the last increase was in these regions. And also it sounds GBP prices are rock bottom against euro as a result of brexit

The 10% price increase in the UK is pretty much in line with the recent plus minus 10% depreciation of the pound against other major currencies. Thus the price increase looks like a reaction to pound depreciation due to Brexit rather than a global price increase.

Not sure if there will be an increase in countries using Euro... it may if Chanel wants to make the price in euro-using countries more similar to the price in the US. I guess the SAs will probably know by now since the ones in UK have been informed.

Thanks, yes thought so as well. Must admit I had been playing with the idea of hopping over to London for a bag, but before Friday's a bit challenging [emoji4] if no-one else from mainland Europe knows maybe I'll call a local boutique to try and verify any possible other increases.

Does Harrods or Selfridges allow you to buy the bag over the phone with your cc for a later pick up date or even ship to you?

Not sure about the dept stores, but the boutiques prefer not to do it, at least for orders from abroad. It's OK though, main focus is on the upcoming season but not with stronger Euro/weaker Pound

I don't think this will hit euro zone.

If euro zone prices get push higher Chanel will need to hit UK even harder given week GBP

HK just had a price increase in May. A jumbo is now HKD39,800.

Someone posted prices for cruise 17, so at least we're good for this year in the US

Things look to be steadying already with the currency rates. It can only go up from here on. There might be some weakness when US and Britain's election come around, but it won't be as bad. Now I wish I bought more Pounds
