I mean list can go on and on but in general I think we can save bit more working in Cali for the same paycheck given both places have high cost living. I don't mean to go off topic sorry but I really hope uS Chanel won't increase price cuz at the moment cost of plane tix worth it to go buy Chanel from Europe. [emoji4]

May I ask a question/advice from the chanel loving ladies?

Do you think $4900 (plus tax) for a Chanel black caviar jumbo double flap with gold hardware with 14s serial number is a good deal, provided that it is in almost like new condition-with dust bag, box and auth card?
I live in Cali, so with the 9% tax, it is around $5300, which is only $650 saving from the current retail for a bag from 2010-2011..should i just buy from the store? The only flaws I saw were hairline scratches on the hardware.

I heard that there will be a price increase in 2016 and want a jumbo, and who doesnt love discounts and sales?!!

I was at the Boutique in Frankfurt. On Saturday I was there again, but the (really grumpy) SA told me she doesn't know anything about an increase...I'll stop by again next week and will try to get some news.
What's your local Boutique?

You probably should have posted this in the Chanel Chit Chat Thread.

I would buy a new one. You can try to locate one from Bergdorf Goodman in NY, they would ship tax tree and you can use a NM card if you have one. You also want to think about Chanel's repair policy. They will no longer repair bags 5 years or older and you need to also have the original purchase receipt. In my opinion getting a new bag makes the most sense

What youre saying makes complete sense. After all, if I'm paying over 5000, I may as well get a brand new current one from 2016. I did not know about the 5 -year-rule for repair!! Didnt they use to take any and all Chanel bags before for cleaning?

I have decided to go for the new 2016 version!!

Yes there isn't much difference between the seller's pricing and a new bag, but the 14 series black caviar was beautiful - deep black, smooth, even grain, puffy quilts, shiny leather. The newer leather is more hit or miss.
