Guess it's different everywhere. But agreed that in UK and parts of EU, we do have a lot more taxes to pay and not so much more or less base salary...where I am, it's a whopping 52%! People are always amazed when I tell them, but it's true. That's like, uhm a Chanel item per month [emoji30]

H did go up recently, but very mildly imo, and some items didn't go up. LV will increase in Feb, my SA has no clue though yet what and by how much, but best guess would be classic Speedy and Neverfull; the items that have become a bit too mainstream. In both cases I don't entirely see Chanel wanting to follow them, but can imagine they see an opportunity with the other premium brands going up. Really just fingers crossed that they keep it reasonable this time.

I understand your pain helenhandbag, my husbands tax is about the same, on top of that working in London is very expensive too!

I agree reasonable increase is ok [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4][emoji4], I would love to keep buying chanel [emoji4][emoji4]

I've worked for several muti national companies for over past 10 years and part of my job is planning for salary expense and hiring worldwide. Freelancers are paid higher as they don't have any benefits so it's not a fair comparison. But London and California are both high cost regions where higher salaries don't offset higher cost of living comparing to the rest of the countries.

Honestly I don't think US prices will go up this year but if other luxury brands increase in EU and UK, then Chanel prices will for sure go up!

Then I will be making heathrow my local boutique and planning lots of lovely holidays throughout the year [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4][emoji4][emoji4], just so I can afford chanel [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4]

Girls, I've just bought a Jumbo classic flap in Harrods, London and I was deliberating and the SA told me, don't tell anyone I told you this BUT in two days there will be a price increase! I bought it then and there :amazed::amazed::amazed:
The Chanel website has no increases on the price yet as of today, but now i am scared....might just go and buy mine soon!

I just had my husband buy me a boy flap wallet in light pink at Heathrow as he happened to fly out of T5... Couldn't resist!!

I don't know, it might not be true, though I don't know why she'd say that :thinkin: I knew I wanted it this month anyway so I just took the leap!
Maybe she wanted you to buy it there and then? I'm not sure either! Anyway, prices are definitely going up soon so good job on getting yours! How are you finding the jumbo size? I'm torn between the M/L and jumbo....thanks :)

Oh wow I bet that was a big difference, from Texas to London or vice versa???
I do love London [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4] haven't been to Texas so can't compare [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4]

Lol you will love Texas, our bathrooms are size of a London standard single flat lol, You should come visit Texas one day.
My humble opinion - US buyers better off buying a Chanel from Europe cuz price difference will cover the cost of flight and in return we can make wonderful memories plus we can bring a tax free Chanel bag home. [emoji4]

I also lived in London and Cali doing same type of job, pay is about the same when pounds converted to USD, however transportation cost to zone 1,2 and 3 is crazy expensive where in Cali we can just drive wherever we want to go not having to pay for whole day pass to save or buy Oyster cards ect, also size comparison in London standard flats fairly small compare to Cali apartments with nice walking closets and bigger toilets and all. Our fast food cost is fairly cheeper and we can get a super size meal with a xxxxL drink and fries for same cost of tiny cheese burger in UK. I also noticed uK Starbucks if you want to add cream to your frapp there a charge for it, here in US it's free even with the pounds to usd conversion. I mean list can go on and on but in general I think we can save bit more working in Cali for the same paycheck given both places have high cost living. I don't mean to go off topic sorry but I really hope uS Chanel won't increase price cuz at the moment cost of plane tix worth it to go buy Chanel from Europe. [emoji4]

Well, I wonder about the EU because they had the increase when the prices were "globalized". UK & US did not. I wouldn't be surprised since the last increase in coming on 2 years. I can see raising EU IF US & UK get an increase. They would have to still keep prices in line.

Anyway, I am not going to panic. history has taught me that there are always a million rumors. When it becomes fact, we will know beforehand.

I forgot to add with all the cost comparison on non Chanel stuff in the end Chanel is still cheeper in UK than US🤑🤑🤑.

True but I don't think they work on commission and they are always so busy it's not like they need to drive a hard sell :shrugs: I knew I wanted the jumbo for a long time and have gone into chanel and pestered the SA's a few times before buying haha. It's the right size for me as I'm relatively tall (170cm) and I want it as an every day ish bag. For a more special occasions type of bag maybe I would have gone for medium though!
