This is so true! But have you noticed that they charge full price some times? That always amazes me. :bagslap:

i do see them go close/over retail on very popular bags like caviar minis, new jumbos, and (now) chevrons, and etc. but if it's a less popular style or color with minimal wear, you can get a really good savings. i bought a virtually brand new black 224 about 2 years ago for 2400, the bag retails for 4700, i think. that's serious savings. although, as someone else mentioned, i'm sure the consignment stores will increase as Chanel does.

Yes I do see this for reissues.

Wow, I bought a black caviar M/L with gold hardware in 2006 for $2,266 AUD (brand new from the Sydney boutique). Can't imagine spending triple the price I paid for the same bag. Crazy!

I have to respectfully disagree.

All the preowned items go up in pricing as well if you look at ebay or tradesy. That makes no sense but it's been the reality. Used 2012 or 2013 wocs (and not even in like new condition!) sold at $1800 or $1900 while brand new is $2100! They were sold higher than retail prices in stores back then.

price increases don't bother me because i only buy pre-loved, which are usually all in new condition anyway :smile1: start coming over to the pre-loved side... where everything remains affordable!

Which store? Chanel standalone boutiques or the departmental stores?

I'm not saying there's no price increase but

BG SAs are quoting no price increase for 16C minis and same as Hirishifer's 16C list.

I was inquiring with Hirshleifers. The email had this season's rectangle black lamb ghw mini at $2,900 and next season's rectangle black patent shw at $3,100 and a square black lamb shw at $2,900. I didn't ask for their full list so maybe it was just a typo afterall, which would be good news for all of us :)

Yeah I think it might have been a typo as I saw hirschfiers list for jumbo and the price is the same.

you didn't see my second post.... i did clarify that items that are more sought after do seem to run higher - close to or at retail. ebay/tradesy are very bad examples of pricing because sellers can list for anything they want without any regard for actual pricing in the store. and items that appear as "sold" may not even be sold, but just taken down by a seller. so it looks like an item sold higher, but perhaps it never did. a tradesy item - for example - also says "sold" for 2400 and a buyer will see that, but with a coupon or some email negotiating the buyer might only pay 2200 or less, but no one sees that.
