Yep that's the right price.It's obviously less than in London because it's tax-free.

did it used to be 1072 before the increase?? that doesn't sound right :confused1:
it's a bit too low..... was it for the large or the jumbo? if this is the right price then I guess i'll have to leave (and come back) soon...haha

Chanel in Europe is generally lower priced than in America.The cheapest Chanel you can get is a Heathrow IMO.

how do they charge so much less at Heathrow?

Does anyone think this could just be a marketing ploy to boost sales?

I do, it works because they know this is going to push people to make decisions to buy much quicker. I even compare these price increases to something like the crazy prices in the housing market, which totally collapsed in the US. The prices rose too fast and were too dramatic and everyone wanted 'in' before the next price increase again. This kind of thing attracts flippers, creating a fictious demand bc flippers are not collectors and have no intention of keeping anything for a long time. Then when people are left with losses, and an inability ro resell at a good enough price, the bottom fell out. Flippers get out, which creates overabundance of supply pushing down the prices. No doubt this is what will happen here too, because so far all Chanel has done is increase prices but quality I believe has gone downhill, so no real reason for a price increase exists. Too many people are in it to resell, JMO at least for now. I do not believe that Chanel is trying to be 'exclusive' - they have expanded too much to be considered 'exclusive' anymore and their target market is clearly a much younger group than what it used to be, younger but not necessarily with the means, just young enough to be willing to be in debt. Anyway...JMO - those who really enjoy the brand just have to wait to ride the madness for a little while.

I was in Saks on Tuesday preselling for EGC, and my SA kept hinting a price increase could be as early as next week. She was somewhat ambiguous about it. She wasn't just saying it so I would buy something, she didn't say anything about an increase next week until she was ringing up the sale. However, she did confirm the GST will be increasing to around $3500...insane!!!

I am having such a hard time with this GST being more than the jumbo. It just seems unfathomable to me. I'm not in the market for the GST but it just makes my head spin.

How much is the GST now?

What the heck?! The GST is going up to $3500? I find that hard to believe. Ugh. Of course I can't purchase my first Chanel until a few months from now so I'm going to pay way more.

Jellybeanz: I don't know how to quote so don't mind me.. but yes, the SA in Toronto told me that some stores in the states have already increased the prices of Chanels... and I've seen a post on this forum about it too, just can't remember where it is...

price increase = boohooo!!! :tdown::yucky::cursing:

Thanks. Yeah, I've seen posts about some price increases in the US too. Bleh.
