I’ve found Sloane St very unresponsive to emails and phone calls (but sometimes they answer). Would definitely try calling Selfridges ground floor boutique to try and secure it and then get to the store. As far as I am aware Selfridges are not doing mail order to customers as they said boutique is open.

Thanks so much for your advice I got my bag from Selfridges today!

I’ve been trying to ring harrods & selfridges with no luck :( the SAs don’t respond too, appreciate they might be busy with sales.

What I found worked was contacting Bond St who then told me where the item I wanted was in stock. If you know what you want hopefully they can tell you if it’s in Harrods or Selfridges. It’s really worth a try.

Yes thank you. I actually rang Walton street as they are quite responsive & they said bag I want is showing in stock at Harrods’s & selfridges but it’s after that when I rang to try and buy the bag the stores in question do not pick up. I asked them to request transfer & nope apparently they don’t do that.

Hey Chanel lovers, I'm going to be in London this weekend visiting the boutique in New Bond Street I think. Do you know how I'm supposed to book an appointment? I couldn't find anything on the website, and my usual SA on Whatsapp seems to be on holiday, so I don't want to bother them, but I would have asked there.

Sorry, I haven't been in person in a while so I don't know what the new system is with this pandemic/smaller traffic in the boutiques. I guess queues are a little hard to predict, but I'd rather try and book something in advance than wait in the rain (we're having the worst British summer lol).

Trying to hunt down beige Clair CF or the new 21a grey CF but seems impossible:sad: I think I can’t beat the price hikes.. didn’t know they were so hard to get.

I think it will be hard to get a grey flap as they had a long waiting list and most of them were reserved pre launch and sold on the first day. Beige clair is not that difficult in my opinion - I wanted one fairly recently and only had to wait about 2 weeks for the next stock piece to arrive.

Hi, does the UK still ship to the US vat free? I’d really like a small classic flap. I did the math (20% vat refund and 10% us customs duty) and I’ll be paying $6500 for one. I already have a profile with harrods.

I don’t believe they ship Chanel to the US at all and definitely not VAT free…(the Americans would all just be buying from the UK if that was possible!)

Some TPFers have gotten Chanel shipped from the UK to other parts of the world…don’t think they got VAT off but hopefully they will comment.

I saw on the hermes thread that American customers at harrods were able to get their quota orders shipped vat free.

I recently bought a Chanel slg from harrods and he said he can’t ship it to the US since it was my first purchase there. He created a new profile for me. He only did that because I was already a harrods customer. So I assumed I could get my next purchase shipped here?

Going to guess the Hermes customers were physically present when they bought the bags and then had them shipped. The U.K.ended VAT refunds unless customers buy in the U.K. and have the item shipped. So that seems possible...I thought you were talking about remote/phone orders from the US...

P.S. I think another way to find out for sure would be to contact the Fashion Advisor at Harrods who sold you the slg...
