Hi, does anyone have experience in buying from Europe? I am trying to locate a CF but in the uk it is sold out and a friend is trying to help locate one but is based in France. Trying to beat the price increase but I’m conscious of the postage and customs etc although apparently people can get around it? Would absolutely welcome your suggestions and thoughts pls. Should I take the plunge or just get it at increased price in the uk when the bag becomes available?

London boutiques should be able to transfer stock from other boutiques in Europe as far as I know.. there might not be enough time for that now but thought you might want to discuss this option with your SA..

Omg really? I’m so sorry to hear .. definitely makes me think twice. How did you buy it if I may ask?

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of emailing the Sloane Street boutique or the Selfridges boutique? I contacted Bond st who told me that the bag I’m looking for is in those stores so have sent them both an email- but am wondering if the best thing is just to visit the stores. I was hoping to be able to purchase it via a payment link and have it shipped to me.

I use to have contacts all over Europe but I can’t order from them now. And the UK boutiques cannot order from the EU anymore because of Brexit and the customs union.
I would really avoid buying from the EU. A lot of boutiques will refuse to send to the UK as we are no longer part of the EU and will have to pay the 20% VAT and duty on top of what you order. It would get stuck in customs. I would recommend waiting and buying once we can travel again to the EU where you can claim the tax back. Spain and Italy offer around 15% back on your purchase, France is around 12%. There isn’t really a way around it unless you can get it shipped to someone within the EU and they keep it for you or send it to you in the UK. But even if they send it as a ‘Gift’ and declare the item as low value you are not protected if it was to get lost in the post and customs can still open the package. It’s very risky.

I’ve found Sloane St very unresponsive to emails and phone calls (but sometimes they answer). Would definitely try calling Selfridges ground floor boutique to try and secure it and then get to the store. As far as I am aware Selfridges are not doing mail order to customers as they said boutique is open.

Thank you so much for your advice
