I am just wondering if SAs in department stores are allowed to get items transferred in from other stores? I know they can check availability in standalone boutiques. Or is it easier for boutiques to do so? I am curious about how it works internally. If anyone has any info please feel free to fill me in. I am looking for a particular item so I contacted my SA in Harrods to see if she can locate it for me (she hasn't replied yet). Ideally, I would like to purchase it in Harrods so I can get the points too :P Thanks x

I have a longstanding Harrods SA and they can definitely transfer items from other stores in the UK and Europe. They request the items and it has to be manager approved. Sometimes the stores are reluctant to transfer items especially new collection items that have just been released but I have never had a request turned down so far. More recently I have even had items transferred from Selfridges to Harrods which I previously thought couldn't be done.

Thanks for the info, I do appreciate it. But it makes me wonder why the SAs in there are telling me different things & reluctant to locate stock for me. Is it because I’m no VIP or I don’t have a long standing relationship with a particular SA? I just started buying Chanel last year.

Hello is anyone able to tell me whether it is still possible to buy from Chanel during the lockdown period? I cannot find a customer service number for them and I do not have the name or number of an SA. I would appreciate any help, thank you

Both Selfridges and Harrods are offering virtual/remote shopping service, not sure if they will sell Chanel though. I have submitted a request to Harrods, still waiting for them to get back to me.

Yeah of course will do. The guy on the phone was really helpful. He did ask me if I was in a rush or whether I could wait a day or two and I did say I was not in a massive rush so I may not get a call back today. But he did say that they should be able to arrange for someone to show me the collection virtually.

Thank you! I would like to see if they will get the cruise collection. In general, I find Chanel SAs in selfridges are friendlier and more helpful compared to those in Harrods. Chanel Harrods never pick up their phones but the ones in selfridges are always happy to check stock over the phone.
