I own an old medium boy from 14B and I did read about it being the most sturdy caviar as well and I only know about this info 3 years after I bought it

Ok so it’s 14B. Do you mind to share a pic pretty pls? I wanna see how different it is compared to my newer leboys caviar. I’ll be keen to hunt for one preloved to keep. What’s the starting serial? Thanks.

Thank you! For sure this looks like a real sturdy caviar. Need to hunt one to touchy it.

I’m not very good with seasons... but thought I would share the caviar on some of my boys.

The right is #25. The top and bottom left are #24. The bottom left is the caviar I’m most bothered with (and of course I sold it, gladly). I mean if it’s named calfskin I’m still ok (it is rather soft and flat quilts and “dry”. Even my calfskin boy is so much more beautiful and puffy). But caviar is supposedly harder and a little grainy (but not rough) with a touch of soft sheen.

Thanks for sharing some photos as well! The caviar indeed varies from season to season and we never know what kind they will come out with next season. I can safely vouch that mine is indeed sturdy because I have accidentally dropped my bag on several occasions on rough surfaces but thankfully there are no scuffs at all! And I am not someone who bother to baby my bags so particularly.

Actually according to my SA, caviar is never the term to identify these boy bags. I was told the term ‘grained calfskin’ is used in the record. ‘Caviar’ is used to identify just the classic flaps.

I would like to share my disappointment with Chanel. I had sent in my wallets twice for repair, for the same defect /issue with the stitches on caviar leather.

And this morning when I decided to change wallet, I realised the same thread that was 'repaired' locally came out again.

I swap wallet very often, and this wallet is the least used because 50% of the time it was sent for repair.

Pissed.

On dear so sorry to hear this! I just realised my wallet has a loose stitch and just wondering if I should bring it in.....

Bring it in for repair.
I have a few chanel wallets and they all have loose stitch.
The thread will come off (like what is in the photo) when the glue dried up.
Do they re-stitch the entire line or just that bit where it's loose? How long will it take for the repair? Thanks so much for sharing your experience.

I just posted in another thread, someone mentioned about the interior of the wallet being marked by cards. Here's my own. Just wondering is this common or just a few unlucky ones?

When I first brought it in for repair, SA told me it was stitched. But it seemed glued.
I would expect the whole thread to be restiched, but what I saw was only that part was glued back.

For local repair, it takes 3 to 6 months, for sending it to Europe to repair, it takes longer. This will depend on how bad the condition is.
