:shocked: Thanks, kohl. That ring is awesome, but the price is high. That's the reason I started this thread because I wanted to see how people felt about spending a certain amount on their jewelry. Whether it is worth it to buy there or at other jewelry houses.

Hehe, I know! I wish VCA's diamond pieces weren't in the 5 digit range but alas, it is what it is! Definitely not a purchase in the near future for me!

I think the Camellia pendant is gorgeous though - it is classic Chanel. Honestly, for $7400 for the pendant (wait - are we talking large or small? :p) , I think it's a reasonable amount, given that there are diamonds and gold involved! Whereas, the Cometes ring I think you can find similar designs elsewhere. Hmm . . .custom route? haha!

Me too! I love VCA, but with the jewelry and my new Chanel bag and card holder which I just got yesterday, I won't be able to afford something from them as well in the near future. :sweatdrop:

I also think the pendant is gorgeous and in real person, it has dimension and is not flat. The $7,400 is for the .15 carat center stone with .60 carat of surrounding diamonds. I guess it's not too bad. I may consider the custom route in other designs as I don't want to create a reproduction of designed pieces. :p

Ooo new Chanel bag! Congrats! Btw, I didn't mean you should make a custom camellia pendant - I meant I could do it for the comete ring if I really wanted to, since it's just two stars (not trademark Chanel), but I've never actually custom made anything to resemble a designer's piece already. I think I'd always look at it and still want the real thing!

Thanks! I just had to have the bag! It was a present for myself for receiving a huge scholarship for my last year in school. :yahoo:

I know what you mean. Hehe...because we both appreciate the designs and quality of authentic items. That's why we are both in trouble. On the other hand, some pieces can be replicated because, like you mentioned, they are not trademarked designs. I always appreciate your great feedbacks! :flowers:

Btw, I got another lecture when I came home with the bag so who knows what will happen if I get the necklace. I think my parents will cut the internet service so I can't go on TPF.

IMO, given on the VVS diamond quality, gold and brand name, $7,400 is not unreasonably expensive.

Here are two of my Chanel Fine Jewelry rings...the one is an ultra band with diamonds. The other is chalcedony. I purchased it in Paris a few years back and I do not recall what collection but you can see the stars as prongs holding the stone and they have diamonds in them. Under the stone, is a carved out star. Very pretty workmanship.

That ring has been on Ebay before and is on Ebay right now for much less. I know nothing about the seller though, so I would only buy if it was from a reputable seller with great feedback.

Oh actually there are two comete rings on Ebay!

I love the jewelry everyone has posted! Is it just me or does Chanel fine jewelry seem like a better "deal" because of the price increases? Two necklaces I liked for fall were over $2,000 (and this is just simple costume jewelry). I love my Chanel costume necklace but it was 'only' about a thousand dollars.

Ooo thanks!! I actually have never bought anything from eBay because I'm really scared of buying fakes. The rings look nice though! But they aren't THAT much cheaper than the boutique. . .I think spending the few extra $$ is worth it to have peace of mind. . .but I'm saving up for something really special, so no impulse purchases for me!
