I'm looking for a heavy duty pair for traveling. Would you ladies recommend the canvas or leather? The price diff here is almost $200 in local currency!
i don't know if i'd call these shoes heavy duty! You still kind of have to baby them as compared to something you didn't care about

I'm ok with them getting dirty and scuffed. I meant mileage, do the canvas or leather ones last longer? I read about some quality issues with the soles.

Is that just your big toe or all your toes? Did you feel like they stretched so there was more room for your toes? All my toes are right at the very end. I've worn them around the house and they don't hurt because the leather is so soft but I'm worried that I will damage my toes wearing shoes where my toes don't have any room to move!
My new babies .. But im soooo torn in keeping them! I really really want chanel canvas espys but im afraid it'll be forever until they come out with new ones. #thestruggle ha!
Finally got a pair!!
it is gorgeous!! thanks for posting this, i am thinking of getting the same color!!ok, i went outside to take a few quick pictures while my neighbors nonchalantly stared at me lol. these are direct from my camera with no filters or adjustments. i just cropped the images.
i tried to take them in shade and in direct sunlight. and i also put the only true red purse that i own next to them to compare colors. these are definitely a true raspberry red color, and not a deep red. at least that's how they look to me.
also, i noticed these fit a bit looser than my all black leather espys from last season. i don't know if maybe they are a return pair and someone with big feet stretched them out, or that's just how they're made. they still fit though and don't come off when i walk. so i'll probably keep them. what do you guys think? and be honest!![]()
I personally think they are good quality but as with any espadrilles you're likely going to come to z point of having issues with the unravelling I would think it could be repaired. I'm not sure if one is harder wearing than the other I think each has its pros and cons so depends on what you're looking for.
In general this style and ballerina flats type aren't high mileage shows imo. For many people the espadrilles lasts only one or two seasons of wear.
