Does anyone have any tips on what stores waitlists are the best to get on? Maybe stores that generally receive a larger amount of stock on these at once? I'm looking for the blanc/noir leather, probably in a 38. I know they are sold out anywhere, but any tips would be greatly appreciated! I'm in California. Thanks!! XOXO

Hello ladies! My cream/black toe canvas pair of espadrilles will be getting delivered tomorrow, and although I usually don't have problems keeping light shoes clean,I am absolutely terrified of getting them dirty. I've read in this thread that you can scotch guard them before wear to help prevent some stains, and that in general, the shoes can be cleaned using detergent. Would anybody here be so kind as to tell what brand of detergent they use when cleaning the canvas pair, and how exactly they go about cleaning? Other methods of cleaning the espadrilles are fine as well. I've seen a few guides online about cleaning toms, but nothing geared specifically towards the Chanel pair yet. Any suggestions at all would be appreciated :)

Note: This is only for canvas espadrilles

Chanel's espadrilles are made of jute and lined with lambskin so I won't recommend to have it washed or get wet. But if you really have to, I suggest to use diluted shampoo or wool lite (never use detergent or bleach) and a toothbrush. Dip the toothbrush in the solution then flick the excess water then brush gently the spot needed to be clean and lastly use a clean cloth to wipe off excess water. Avoid brushing the jute because this may result to unravel the fibers and remember not to wet your espadrilles too much. To dry off your espadrilles I suggest putting it near a HUMIDIFIER or let it dry gently. Never use blow dryer or direct sunlight or any direct heat. After this apply scotchgard. If you can apply leather conditioner in the lambskin lining that will also helps.

P.S.
This is just a idea. I am thinking of applying clear nail polish into the jute to keep off dirt getting stuck inside of it and to preserve the fibers. This trick is usually used to prevent a knot on being untangle. I will try this on mine at the back of the heel and I will let you know how it goes. :)

Thank you so much! Do you have a brand of shampoo or type of wool lite that you'd recommend? I know some of them have dyes or "color" so if you have a suggestion for a "clear" type that won't cause even more stains when drying, that would be great! And definitely tell us how the clear nail polish idea worked. That sounds very interesting :)

I don't know if this will help but I wear a 35.5 in CL,MB and my lamb chanel flats. The espadrilles I ordered were a 36. I could not have worn a smaller size. My toes are at the end of the shoe. That said,my foot is very narrow and width wise the espadrilles are neither snug nor wide.

Good luck.

I wear a 6.5 or 7 normally, but I remember trying on the beige/noir leather espadrilles last fall and from what I remember the 37 were really tight (not sure if they still run small like this). So I'm thinking I need the 38?

From my experience, single soles you need one size up and double soles are true to size. It's confusing!
