Espadrilles of any kind, by any maker, are pretty much designed to be a one season shoe. After that they start to look a bit ragged, either from the sole or the jute or the (traditionally) canvas, or some combination thereof. They were made to be worn barefoot.

Ladies! After much detective work, calling around various stores, etc. I was able to track down a size 37 in the canvas taupe espadrilles (Thanks to a lovely tPFer's SA contact!!) and also a size 37 in the beige leather. The canvas are the double sole and the SA wasn't sure what type of sole the leather espadrilles were since they are being shipped from another store.

I'm confident that the 37 canvas will fit me but I'm not so sure about the leather. I've read all sorts of conflicting advice. Some say the leathers ran big, others small...I got confused :panic:I generally wear a size 6 shoe in flats, or a 36 or 36.5 (Louboutins). I hee-ed and haw-ed over 36 vs 37 but ultimately the SA said "Trust me, these run small whether they are canvas or leather". So...I went for the 37. Now I'm border line losing sleep thinking i need to frantically call back for a 36 as well, just in case. :p

So my question is...any ladies out there a size 36 or 36.5 and have a pair of recently purchased leather espadrilles? What size did you end up with??

Hi ladies!

I need your help!
I bought the Nappa Espadrilles in Black today, size 35 - yeah, I have tiny feet.
My SA didn't have much of a selection at the Chanel Boutique in the Mall at Millenia - I wasn't really in love with colour but sort of purchased them anyway...

Should any of you ladies be in the mall anytime this week - LOOK OUT FOR SIZE 35 ESPADRILLES FOR ME?

Preferably in lighter / brighter colours. :hbeat:

I normally wear a 36/36.5. My shoe profile sounds like you. Mostly 36 in flats and 36/36.5 in louboutin.

I went for the 37 in leather and it fit perfectly. I didn't have a chance to try on a 36 though. Also I'm not sure leather comes in double sole (I may be wrong). The leather ones I have are single sole. I wanted the canvas but I don't like the double sole. It reminds me of platform shoes from the 90s!

The black double soles look nice on!! The leather is thicker than the single sole ones. I found them to be true to size. I wear US 8 and got 38 but in single sole had to get 39.

Darn. My SA is unsure whether the leathers are a single or double sole since he ordered them from New York. I'm going to call back first thing tomorrow to check.

The canvas for sure is double sole and I sized up to a size 37. Here's to hopin!!! :tender:

Well, I'm not sure about double sole canvas but my friend wears a 6-6.5 and the double sole leather ones in size 36 were too loose on her (couldn't stay on her heel, she kept slipping out) so she ordered a 35. They came in and they're a bit snug but she's trying to stretch them out. She loves them so hopefully they work out. I got my true size in the double sole leather, I'm a size 8 so got 38 and they fit well. One foot fits a little snug but I don't mind it.

Btw, where did you find the canvas taupe? :smile1:
