Random question hoping someone knows the answer: if you return an item, does the original commission get deducted from the SA that sold the item to you, or do they keep their commission?

Arghh.....I went to my local Chanel store and saw so many beautiful WOCs. After this 22K dark pink, I think I need a black one for versatility. Not the classic one, but something with a bit of twist on the hardware. Something dressier.

I don’t know this 100% for a fact, but I am 95% sure that the original commission gets deducted. This is based on two returns, one SA has not spoken to me since (I probably deserved this— did not research the size of the bag before remote ordering), and my regular SA who did her best to hide that she was crestfallen that I returned a coat that she had shipped to me from another store (did not fit).

I saw this one in the store on Wednesday— might fit the bill for you!

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the SA that stopped speaking to you. I don't think we should be made to feel bad about returning something if we, for whatever reason, change our mind ----especially high ticket items. My SA is so gracious and understanding on the rare occasion I returned an item due to being lopsided, etc, so I wasn't sure if the return affects SAs financially. Good to know.

I wasn’t surprised in the end- I had a suspicion, and wrote an apology note to her in the return box; I know she got it, because she texted with a pic. I think earning on a commission structure is difficult, and some people are able to manage it better than others.
I respect the hustle.

I return once and my SA was understanding about it. But I refer another friend of mine so she bought it from my SA. I return not because of a defect but I just didn’t like the color in real life.

I'm on the hunt for a bright pink medium flap in either lambskin or older version caviar (doesn't matter the hardware). I think I have it narrowed down to the 14s or 21s pinks, but I'm totally open to other suggestions. I haven't seen either in person so it's hard to get a real feel of the true color. I'm looking for something in this range-ish (probably closer to the top than the bottom):

Thanks for any help!

How do you guys think, how soon it would take till Chanel bubble bursts, if ever? I mean, people invest in those bags some serious sums of money hoping that price will only go up even though there’s a lot of other people who say they aren’t buying into those prices. I even saw those claims (cannot confirm if true though) that demand for black classic flaps is already cooling down, say, Fashionphile may not accept them because they already have a lot of inventory. Idk, doesn’t it feel like a Ponzi scheme that is set to blow up eventually?

I think with anything prices can fluctuate depending on economic times and trends. The people who spent large sums of money to “invest” probably don’t truly appreciate the fashion house and aren’t collectors. Many people went on a buying frenzy during the pandemic and a lot of those bags ended up on the resale or second hand market now given the recession we are in or going to be in depending on who you talk to. People wanted to “flex” a few years ago and now that reality is back a lot of people need their money back. In my opinion the demand has decreased since the pandemic days are pretty much done but I think prices may drop slightly more on the resale market than it marginally already has given the current economy. Chanel is a true luxury fashion house, I don’t see them depreciating to any price range that would be accessible to anyone… this is still Chanel and exclusivity is key. The demand will soften but that is because of affordability and accessibility to the general public… which to be honest is probably what Chanel wants. When people can’t get what they want they start to make it look unappealing to others since they can’t or don’t have it but the truth is if they could have it they would want it! Resale sites are a business… when they have too much inventory they need to make sales to keep the lights on. The resale market is not a marker for Chanel’s value which is why Chanel has wanted to stop them for so long! Just my opinion.

Random question, does dyeing a vintage change decrease its price in the long run? Nothing dramatic just a hint of a different shade on the outside. Eg. light light lilac but the inside is white or beige? would it make a difference? honest opinion :hrmm: because I can't find the shade I want:confused1:

Hi Pearl,
How are you. I purchased a mini flap from Hannari 2 years ago. They bag was just as described, packaged well and arrived quickly via EMS from Japan. I have seen a few of their bags authenticated by colourful belle(previous Chanel authenticator) and they were always authentic as was mine. For your peace of mind,****************** before purchase. best of luck to you and Happy Holidays.
So helpful, im also thinking of purchasing from them! Thank you!

Short answer, yes. Imo.

I don’t sell my bags, so I’d do whatever I want. And if I were to buy a preloved bag, I’d want it in original condition personally.

Hi all- has anyone noticed there seems to be a variation in the ghw between classic flaps? I viewed a small black caviar cf with ghw which seemed so bright and yellow (looked like vintage but wasn’t) then viewed the exact same model in another store and the ghw looked almost like champagne or silver … has anyone else noticed this variation in ghw or am I just being super picky!!
