Chanel at Costco

I haven't seen any in the Costco's in my town. The only ones that popped up where Fendi's and Gucci's for bags. I wouldn't mind if they start appearing more and get oppty to get one at a decent price.

Biggest problem with costco is that the employees are not trained in anyway to tell if an item is fake or real (I'm talking specifically about items that are returned). I know this first hand because I purchased a chanel item myself, went to purchase one item, and within the 5 minute span the exact item was back on the shelf (there was a scratch in a specific area which is why i returned it, the one on display had the mark so I am certain it is the same item). While I really loved the easy return, She did not even inspect the bag (for monogram sticker, card, etc)! It makes me question the entire practice... how do they know I didn't return a fake bag? I would stick to department stores and boutiques where these items are more closely monitored.

+1. I was so tempted to drop by Costco the day Madison Avenue Spy posted the picture of the two flaps, including the gorgeous charcoal gray! However at the end of the day I knew I could never bring myself to buy one from there precisely because of the above reason. If the returns policy is so lenient and the staff hasn't been properly trained, how can I be sure the bag I'm getting is not a used returned bag or even worse a super fake?

They do not sell Chanel handbags there. However, yes I have seen a Chanel watch being sold there (locked up in their glass display case where all the engagement rings etc are sold.) They also have Cartier, and Tag Heuer to name a few. I think the most expensive watch I saw in their display case was roughly $16k. that day. I have seen Versace, Chloe, Prada, and Fendi wallets & handbags either being sold online or in store (not all year round, normally around the holidays.) I think if you search on their website now only the Fendi & Chloe will pop up. They are definitely all authentic. (Costco is a huge company even selling million dollar engagement rings!) 😊 :) If you ever get a chance to go into Costco definitely check it out.. Love the store! They have so much to offer and stand by all the products they sell. (like Nordstrom, they basically have no return policy on basically everything, and I believe only a handful of items is by a certain time period, but I've seen everything from half eaten foods, used items, down to tv's being returned if for some reason the customer wasn't satisfied.. I walked by and was speechless! I can never walk into Costco and not leave with something.. Haha hope this helps! ;)
clearly they do sell bags at costco at some point, there's pics in this thread.

I love Costco!! My husband purchased my engagement ring from Cartier but we regret not buying it at Costco! (Cartier 1.66 carat platinum vs2 color F , for the price we could have purchased a 2 carat ring at Costco with same color and clarity and still have money left for food for an entire year lol!)

I shop on a weekly basis at Chanel, Cartier, Prada, Louis Vuitton, and sometimes Hermes for special occasions, but I still love Costco to death!

I must mention that Costco actually carries very high quality diamonds, nothing below VS2. All luxury items come with boxes and accessories you would receive at the boutique.

Recent purchases at Costco that I can remember: ( and yes all authentic! Prices are before NJ 7% tax )

3.3 carat diamond necklace
Cartier Ballon Bleu rose gold and steel automatic mid size watch $7200
Dior Cristal diamond and sapphire watch $3999
Mont Blanc pen $169
Diamond earrings on platinum 1 CTW VS1 color F $2100
Diamond 1.3 CTW platinum ring with matching wedding band with inset stones. Center stone .7 carat $3999

My parents actually clued me in to Costco about 10 years back when my father purchased matching his and hers Cartier Santos Steel automatic watches for around $2000 each . They have it serviced at Cartier periodically, 100% authentic. I recently saw a 4 carat VS1 color F diamond ring for $450,000, TDF!

I would recommend Costco to anyone.
In response to some members here who have posted that Costco employees have no knowledge of luxury items, that may be true, however its irrelevant as the items that go thru Costco are not authenticated by them.

Recently I purchased a Cartier tank watch at Costco, and decided to return it. The return process involved them having to send the item back to the factory to have it authenticated by experts before I can receive a refund. This may delay the refund process (up to 1 month) but this is also comforting knowledge that Costco takes their luxury items seriously.

I believe that over the past decade Costco is becoming increasingly synonymous with the luxury lifestyle. There's a reason Costco is one of the few companies that has not only maintained its stock price but has gone up in a down market! From high end patio grills to high end patios themselves, $1000 juice mixers, organic food, and $450,000 diamonds, Costco is really ,"Bargains for Billionaires!"

(Is Daffy's still in business? Lol)

Hi all! Long time lurker here, but first time poster.

I am slowly building my Chanel collection. My husband purchased a GST for me a couple of years ago, and I added a M/L Classic Flap last year. :smile1: A new Costco just opened yesterday in a affluent suburb outside of Houston, and there was a JUMBO CLASSIC FLAP there last night for $4200. I couldn't believe my eyes. There was just one, so we purchased it. The question of authenticity honestly did not even cross my mind. I've purchased a Burberry at Costco before, and it's 100% authentic. They sell a lot of high dollar items, and they have a great return policy, so I don't think I have anything to lose. I have no idea where they acquired it, I was told that they usually try to get a few special items for each Costco grand opening, and I guess I just happened to be present at the right time to snag it.

After I got home, I compared it to my M/L flap (purchased from Neiman Marcus), and I have no doubts about the authenticity - all the little details check out! I attached a picture I snapped in the store when it was on display.

YAY for you! I'm so happy to hear a story of someone who actually grabbed one. I swear if I saw one at my Costco I would purchase as quickly as possible. Did they tell you how long it had been there? I am always going to check the luxury section from now on. Lucky for you - a gorgous purse.

Thank you ladies! The store opened in the morning at 8am and I made my purchase in the evening around 7pm. The staff there said several people contemplated getting it, but they changed their minds in the check out line. I think I will be hitting every new Costco opening now, lol. Just wanted to share my experience since so many people seem to have doubts about Costco! It's a great company!
