you definitely made the right decision.

I found the same exact tag heuer with diamond in costco for $3600.. compared to other store that I got on the same day for $5300. I compared both and look exactly the same. To have a peace of mind, i brought the watch to tag shop and they told me it's authentic.

costco would not sell fake stuff. Trust me !!!

and if you found out it's fake, you can always return it anytime !!! nothing to lose here

I worked for Costco, my hubby has worked for them for 22 years.... It's not fake :) They don't do that. They're a very reputable company all around. I'd go with it and be very happy!

Hi all! Long time lurker here, but first time poster.

I am slowly building my Chanel collection. My husband purchased a GST for me a couple of years ago, and I added a M/L Classic Flap last year. :smile1: A new Costco just opened yesterday in a affluent suburb outside of Houston, and there was a JUMBO CLASSIC FLAP there last night for $4200. I couldn't believe my eyes. There was just one, so we purchased it. The question of authenticity honestly did not even cross my mind. I've purchased a Burberry at Costco before, and it's 100% authentic. They sell a lot of high dollar items, and they have a great return policy, so I don't think I have anything to lose. I have no idea where they acquired it, I was told that they usually try to get a few special items for each Costco grand opening, and I guess I just happened to be present at the right time to snag it.

After I got home, I compared it to my M/L flap (purchased from Neiman Marcus), and I have no doubts about the authenticity - all the little details check out! I attached a picture I snapped in the store when it was on display.

What an amazing deal on a beautiful bag. Love the jumbo in beige clair ghw! Congrats and enjoy!!

If Chanel does warrenty a watch being sold at TJ Maxx - does that mean they are agreeing to sell their products there? Would seem to alter their brand image and perception surely??

I wonder if it's like the espadrilles one member found yesterday at Nordstrom Rack for $100 and change, or the python bags people get on sale at 60% off, or the RTW found at discount stores for 80% off, etc. It's still Chanel, the shoes and bags (and some iconic RTW pieces) still sell for full price at the Chanel boutiques. Does that make the brand any less desirable? Hermes has been seen at some discount stores and they just had a blowout sake at their BH store. Does that make people then not buy Hermes? You can pay full price for Rolex or go to other stores or online overstock places and pay less.

Bluefly used to sell Chanel new pieces. Does that change your image or perception of these brands? I've never bought these items on sale but I certainly don't begrudge those that found them at great sale prices. Costco also has the best return policy in retail, allowing a lot of time for authentication should anyone worry. Don't think Chanel should take returns? Write to corporate and say so and shake your head at all the people here who return bags months and months after purchase, some of whom let slip they have used or carried the bag out one or more times but plan to return it as NWT, only to be sold to some unsuspecting customer.

Would you walk away from a sale at 60% off items others paid full price for? Do you think nothing should ever be sold at sale prices? No more twice yearly sales on some bags, wallets, necklaces, brooches, earrings, WOC in pretty python, no more sale shoes, no more sal prices for RTW? Then write to corporate Chanel and let them know how you feel and ask tpf mods to take down all sale finds and returns threads.

I forgot about those pesky airport duty free shops that sell Chanel as well as people who buy Chanel (and Hermes) at lower prices in France and get VAT back; better contact not only corporate but the EU countries to stop that (they sell watches at a discount, too). Now isn't it all a bit absurd to get upset that some find a few bits of Chanel at discounted prices when the company actually discounts the very same items? Who was it that got a classic jumbo at the last sale? I'm sure she's happy, and many of us are happy for her.

Think it is a bit of a slippery slope for top brands to go on. Once people realise that the discounts are more readily available, i think there will be more waiting for "sales" and "discounts and unwilling to pay full price. It is interesting to see over the years the retail shops having to bring forward their sales dates for Christmas until it became ridiculous. Now some are trying to go back the other way and refusing to start the annual sales until nearer the time but finding consumers are also holding back until the last moment waiting for sales - a case of "who blinks first". Should be interesting to see where this all goes....

I have definitely seen handbags an accessories by Gucci, burberry and even watches by breitling but I have never seen Chanel at Costco! To be honest though, as much as it would bother me that I paid full price for these items, I know I would never pass up a good deal on a desirable brand if I saw one! I'd be Guilty as charged for that!

It is so funny how people are freak out and keep saying.. "I would be careful".. "I would be leery"...

Come on !!
If you buy it from unknown store, yes I would say be careful.
You are talking about costco !!!!!

I bought my tag heuer there.. and they told me they are not authorized reseller... and the warranty is through costco... BUT !!!! I asked tag heuer.. if i have problem, they will still fix my watch... i can still bring it in ....
And costco said.. if suddenly in the 4th or 5th year after you buy your watch.. or even 10 years.. tag decided not to service your watch.. BRING IT BACK TO COSTCO !!!!!!! we will refund you the money..

their guarantee is even better !!!!
So... if you find anything from costco !!! buy it !!! because costco warranty is the best around the world !!!

Costco lets you return anything at anytime! Just keep your reciepts. I love Costco, I've purchased electronics, luxury goods, and so many other items throughout the years. If you buy electronics, they actually extend the manufacturers' warranties. They stand by their products, probably more so than any other store.

I'm not freaking out, but the reason I said I'd be leery is because that defective watch I had ended up somewhere... Maybe not Costco but somewhere. I love Costco, I've shopped there for years. I agree they have the best return policy, although I've rarely ever had to return anything there. I've bought jewelry, cameras, vitamix blenders, televisions etc. My point was that if you get a defective watch that you're buying brand new such as happened to me, it was great that NM could replace it right away. If Costco only had one and you purchased it would you want to send a brand new watch out for repair? It may be discounted but it's still a lot of money. Just my opinion of course but I prefer authorized dealers. But I do believe what they sell is authentic.

got it.. no hard feeling here :)
I had the same idea and costco told me if you do not want to wait for the repair.. they will refund me full money :)
even though i have wear that watch for more than 5 years... I can still ask for refund :)
so.... i think it's still worth the money :)

No hard feelings here either. :) Just wanted to explain why I would personally be leery. Glad you've had good luck with your tag, I've had one for about ten years. Great time pieces!

Costco has generous return policy and also carry luxury items at a little better price than retail stores.
