Cartier thin small/Love bracelet thread

I just got my small love bracelet. And the screw turns in any direction. Also it just toggles the lock/unlock and lock/unlock when you turn multiple times (any direction). Just wanted to add this to everyone else’s reports.

I have another question for all of you with small love bracelets. Hope you can chime in.

When the snap mechanism is closed and the screw is locked in lock position, is there a slight movement/click metal sound when you tap the bracelet from both sides or if you try to pull both sides slightly apart when the bracelet is locked? In other words, is it shut/closed tightly or since its a snap lock mechanism there’s some tiny wiggle room when you try slightly to pull it apart or tap it from both sides?

I just got my small love and the closure isn’t super tight, there’s some slight click sound when I do what I described above.

Would appreciate your input on how your loves are. Thank you!
Yes, my small love bracelet has the same problem like you described above. I haven’t noticed about this clicking sound until recently. Mine is two years old. It’s weird that your new bracelet has this sound too.

I just got my small love and it opens easy without any extra force. Depending on what side/position you are looking at; you can either press down on the screw side and pull apart or lift up the part without the screw and pull apart. Just wanted to add this for anyone who’s interested.

Hey there, mine always needs the screw to be ‘unlocked’ to open but yes when it is in the ‘locked’ position there is slight movement between the two halves if I pull on it and it makes a little clicking/tapping noise. I think other people have said the same in another thread previously. I’ve had mine for 2.5 years and no problems with it!

Hi! I just bought the small love bracelet online through the e-boutique and had a question. Does anyone else who have the small love bracelet...when the bracelet is closed and screwed on, do the two halves move just slightly around a little bit where the opening is? Like there is a little bit of wiggle room? Hope I’m explaining this clearly. Thanks for any help and insight!

So funny you mention it. I didn't find this thread earlier and was asking the same question in the other "small love bracelet" related threads. I just got mine and it has the wiggle room you are describing. Also 3 people commented back on my question in the other threads and confirmed their small love bracelet also has a bit of space and makes a little clicking/tapping noise if you press on two halves or try to pull apart.
So it sounds like it's common and not a defect.
If anyone asked their SA or Cartier about this, it would be interesting to know what they said.

Thanks for the reply! I ended up returning it since I didn’t like the clicking noise it made. It sounded too loose for me :)

Thank you for letting me know, rakhee81.
That gives me a peace of mind, I was a bit worried, I must admit.

Do you wear your small love 24/7 or do you take it off daily?

Has this slight movement between the two halves bothered you at the beginning?

Do you wear your small love without ever taking it off or do you take it off daily?

Once you discovered this little movement has it been bothering you?

I’d love to wear mine 24/7 but somehow with that slight movement between the two halves it doesn’t feel very solid to me. I’d prefer if it were closed shut tightly.

3 people here on PurseForum including you told me they also have slight movement between the two halves when bracelet is closed. I am the 4th one. And I found a post of someone else too asking about the same thing a long while ago. So that’s 5 people total so far.
Seems like it may not be a problem and is actual design since it’s a snap closure mechanism?!

Oh you did? I’m also not very thrilled about this slight movement between the two halves of the bracelet. I’d prefer if it were closed shut tightly. I’d love to wear mine 24/7 and it doesn’t feel very solid to me either. But I love everything else about it.
So far 3 people here on purseforum told me their small loves have the same movement (with me and you, that’s 5 people total). Sounds like it may be a design of the snap mechanism and not a defect. Other people reported they’ve had it for 2+ years with no issues.

What did your SA say when you brought the bracelet back because of this clicking sound?

If it makes you feel any better, I have three that I've worn 24/7 and never had any issues.

Hi Violet Bleu,
do all three of your small love bracelets have this clicking sound/slight movement between the two halves of the bracelet?

Did it concern you a little at the beginning?
How long have your been wearing yours 24/7?

Probably now that you’ve had yours for a while you know it’s safe despite this slight movement and nothing to worry about?!

Hi lmissx,
I have similar experience with my small love bracelet with very slight movement, one is more than the other, I have two, wearing them 24/7 for a year. They were always secure though, never unlocking by themselves. Hope this helps.

Hi ThingsThatILove,
Did this slight spacing between two halves bother you a little at the beginning, like it didn’t feel solid enough?

Of course now that you’ve had yours for a year and with 24/7 wear, it’s probably not a worry for you anymore.

I’d like to wear my small love 24/7 too but somehow because of it not being closed shut very tightly it kind of feels strange to be wearing it all the time (shower, etc). Maybe it’s just a matter of getting used to it. :-/

So far 4 people told me their small love bracelet is the same with clicking/tapping sound/slight space between the two halves. So it’s probably not a matter of getting one without this phenomenon. Sounds like it might be a design thing.

What did your SA say when you brought the bracelet back because this clicking sound?
This was 1.5 years ago but the manager of the store allowed me to take a look at a few other thin loves and the others seemed tighter and more secure. I ended up just going for the regular classic love in the end and I’m really happy with that decision!

I haven’t taken it off since bought it. Honestly I don’t mind the clicking sound because you won’t hear it unless you’re playing with the bracelet. Like I told you above I don’t even know about this until recently.
I’m about to buy the second love soon. I think I will get the small YG love bracelet again. I love the lock’s system of the small because i can open and close it by myself though I am wearing it for 24/7.

Yes, you’re right. You can’t hear clicking sound unless you’re playing with the bracelet.
It’s not so much the sound that troubles me, but the visible connection line that I see. Once I press the two halves the space gets smaller and the connection point is nearly invisible. Otherwise I do see the connection point when I stare at it in admiration. :)
It’s not that much of a deal breaker. Just wish it was tight so more seamless surface.
Maybe I’m being too picky and just need to get used to it. Like you, I also love the lock mechanism of the small love and it is the main reason I bought it instead of classic love.
