Yes, you’re right. You can’t hear clicking sound unless you’re playing with the bracelet.
It’s not so much the sound that troubles me, but the visible connection line that I see. Once I press the two halves the space gets smaller and the connection point is nearly invisible. Otherwise I do see the connection point when I stare at it in admiration.
It’s not that much of a deal breaker. Just wish it was tight so more seamless surface.
Maybe I’m being too picky and just need to get used to it. Like you, I also love the lock mechanism of the small love and it is the main reason I bought it instead of classic love.
You should be picky especially when buying a luxury item :). It’s nothing wrong to expect a perfect product from a brand name like Cartier.
Enjoy your love bracelet! Don’t forget to share a mod shots.

Thank you for letting me know, rakhee81.
That gives me a peace of mind, I was a bit worried, I must admit.

Do you wear your small love 24/7 or do you take it off daily?

Has this slight movement between the two halves bothered you at the beginning?

It did bother me at the beginning but now I don’t event think about it. I wear mine almost every day and to sleep and shower but I have to take it on and off for work 4 days of the week and it’s holding up fine

I just got my small love and it opens easy without any extra force. Depending on what side/position you are looking at; you can either press down on the screw side and pull apart or lift up the part without the screw and pull apart. Just wanted to add this for anyone who’s interested.

I have another question for all of you with small love bracelets. Hope you can chime in.

When the snap mechanism is closed and the screw is locked in lock position, is there a slight movement/click metal sound when you tap the bracelet from both sides or if you try to pull both sides slightly apart when the bracelet is locked? In other words, is it shut/closed tightly or since its a snap lock mechanism there’s some tiny wiggle room when you try slightly to pull it apart or tap it from both sides?

I just got my small love and the closure isn’t super tight, there’s some slight click sound when I do what I described above.

Would appreciate your input on how your loves are. Thank you!

Rest-assured - the slight gap/clicking is normal. I noticed it when I first got mine back in May also, but I read on this forum that others had it also so I stopped concerning myself about it.

When I read your post, I pressed mine together and heard it. This morning I pressed it and it’s not there so I pull on it slightly and it’s there. Just leave it alone and don’t worry about it - I find it a bit reassuring that there’s a bit of movement actually. I see it as less rubbing on the gold.

As for wear, I wear mine 24/7 and really it’s so comfortable I got used to it from the very beginning (sleeping with it, working out with it, etc). I do protect it as much as I can when I can such as a wristband on for doing housework, etc and honestly, I have very few & minimal scratches on it. You can’t really tell unless you inspect it very, very closely. I’d say the most scratches I got on it were within the first 3 months - the adjustment period. However, it still looks really shiny and new.

Also, since day 1 when my husband screwed it in my wrist, not once have we had to tighten it. It’s secure. Another trick is putting tape on the screwdriver I have read to avoid scratches when you have to use it.

I love wearing it! Planning to add a thick one with it next year!

Hope that helps! Enjoy!

Hi Violet Bleu,
do all three of your small love bracelets have this clicking sound/slight movement between the two halves of the bracelet?

Did it concern you a little at the beginning?
How long have your been wearing yours 24/7?

Probably now that you’ve had yours for a while you know it’s safe despite this slight movement and nothing to worry about?!
Hello! I think one or two of them do, but I have literally worn mine to death and never had any issues. To be honest, I think some of them do and some of them don’t. And no I was never concerned about it. I’ve had mine for a couple of years. I wore them 24/7 while showering, swimming, and everything. I knocked them on stuff all the time and wasn’t careful at all and never had them come open or anything like that. And I think pulling on them when they’re locked to listen for the clicking sound is probably not that good for them either. So I wouldn’t worry about it.

Hi ThingsThatILove,
Did this slight spacing between two halves bother you a little at the beginning, like it didn’t feel solid enough?

Of course now that you’ve had yours for a year and with 24/7 wear, it’s probably not a worry for you anymore.

I’d like to wear my small love 24/7 too but somehow because of it not being closed shut very tightly it kind of feels strange to be wearing it all the time (shower, etc). Maybe it’s just a matter of getting used to it. :-/

So far 4 people told me their small love bracelet is the same with clicking/tapping sound/slight space between the two halves. So it’s probably not a matter of getting one without this phenomenon. Sounds like it might be a design thing.
I'm sorry for the late reply, just saw your message...
Yes, it did at the beginning (although it wasn't very noticeable),
I got used to it very quickly but still took me a while to not worry about the lock. I do still check it regularly even though it has been always very scure... it became a habit
They are a part of me now and so comfortable and enjoyable to wear.

Hello all members. Just to warn you, i have also small bracelet which was not tight from the moment i bought it. So it opened few times by itself, and after one year when i was putting her on, the little piece that comes in BROKE. I sent the bracelet to cartier and waiting for responce. I think they are not well made, and i will be selling mine when it returns.

I’m sorry to hear that! I agree it was probably defective. I’ve worn mine almost every day for over two years and haven’t had it come loose once! I’ve worn it working out, river rafting, etc. I’ve taken it on and off a bunch and haven’t had any issues with the closure.

My experience is that the mechanism is a little loose, but secure. You can turn 90 degrees, then 90 degrees, on and on and it has a little clicking sound. Never had it unlock and fall off my wrist on its own.

My SA told me to only turn it clockwise not the other way, to both open and close it. Mine also has not had any issues. Always is on tight/no sounds, never has it come undone either and I take mine off and on many times.

Hi All! New to the forum and joined to ask about the screw on the small Love bracelet not being completely tight :) So this forum was perfect! I have the regular love bracelet and never had an issue w/ the screws on that one. But for the small one I can see a tiny gap even after it's closed w/ a small clicking noise. I bought it on Fashionphile, so it's not new. Do you think it'll get even worse w/ time? Will it bother me in the long run? I love the smaller size because it's easier to wear. But wondering if I should return it and look for a different one that hopefully doesn't have this problem. Thanks!

Do your bracelet have a gap when it’s closed (the part where u screw it)? If I push the bracelet in where the arrows are at, there will be a click sound. Do you have the issue ? Many thanks!

My bracelet has a click sound when I push it and a bit of a gap as well. I was a bit worried at first but I've never had an issue with the screw for the 3 months I've had mine (fingers crossed it stays that way).

No this is not normal. You are in danger of losing it. Check in with your boutique. They may glue it, change the screw system and - if said before does not help - exchange for a new one.
